Synopsis that Outlines the Party Events Binkie Blossom invited her closest friends to her annual celebration. They arrived in style and participated in an exciting party game while munching on yummy snacks. Then, to everyone’s shock, a kidnapping occurred! The guests mingled and caught up on the latest gossip while trying to decide what to do about the kidnapping. The kidnapper was clever and came up with various ways of getting the ransom notes to the guests – including riddles and challenging codes! Another fun challenge was played by the guests as they awaited the next ransom note. Dinner was served as they strategized on how to best handle the situation. The guests engaged in a thorough investigation, and everyone was relieved when a fun scavenger hunt revealed the kidnapping victim! The guests turned in their best guess of whodunit before participating in a few more of Binkie’s scheduled party games. The guests sat in a circle and enjoyed desserts and yummy hot chocolate while one-by-one, they revealed their involvement in the crime. After the kidnapper confessed, the excellent party ended with another thrilling challenge. Overall, it was the best celebration Binkie Blossom ever had – and definitely the most memorable!

Iron Mary Rackham is the strong captain of a crew of fifty on her merchant ship – the S.S. Minnow Hunter.

She sails the sea with a hot pink Jolly Roger flag flying on her mast and claims to be a modern-day pirate –

without all the pillaging and plundering, of course! She is super friendly and a hard worker.

Television Star

The Hogwarts is a hit television series on the CBC Network. On the show, Sabrina uses her magical

powers for Good Samaritan duties such as feeding the homeless, helping the poor, and doing what she can

for the elderly in nursing homes. Sabrina never breaks character in real life, so nobody even knows her real

name or what she is truly like.

Goldendust Forest is a popular fairy-themed teen hangout in town. Owned by the Queen Fairy,

Goldendust hosts and entertains with a fairy magic show and song and dance performances. Her pointy

ears and shoes are her trademark look. However, don’t let her cute appearance fool you, as she can be

wicked when she needs to be!

Fortune Teller to the Stars

You never know what you’re going to get out of Tele N. Ewe – the fortune teller to the celebrities in

Hollywood. Known to be a compulsive story-teller, this crystal ball wielding gypsy can spew some crazy

fortunes.

Binkie’s Younger Sister

Jenny Blossom is Binkie’s younger sister. Less than a year apart, they couldn’t be more different in every way. Jenny loves to stay in the shadows and could

care less about fashion. Jenny prefers a quiet night at home with her nose in a good book to big parties.

This mystery is a light-hearted and comical mystery that allows the players to step into a different character while trying to solve an entertaining mystery. Print this kit and cut out the clue cards for each round, placing them into color-coded and labeled envelopes for

OPTIONAL PRE-GAME STARTER: these optional pre-game cards are to be delivered to each guest before the party, or give them to the guests as they arrive. All pre-game materials are optional. They are intended to enhance the build up for the event. These tasks are not vital to solving the mystery. Also, encourage your guests to view the Your Mystery Party guest pre-game website to get them excited about your game (this is highly encouraged). ROUND ONE: Deliver the round one clue card envelopes as your guests arrive. It is optional to serve appetizers/snacks. ROUND TWO: Deliver the round two clue card envelopes. It is optional to break for dinner either before or after this round. The investigation will commence in this round. SOLUTION ROUND THREE: Deliver the round three solutions. It is optional to serve coffee/hot cocoa and dessert.

Don’t host a party without some type of food/beverage offering - hungry guests are not happy guests.

INVITING GUESTS: character lists for your guests are available on both the free, printable invitation and the free, pre-game guest site at YourMysteryParty.com/Binkie. There is a lot of flexibility on how to invite your guests – use the free invitation, make your own invitation, use a social media event page, email or text the YourMysteryParty.com link, or use any eVite service. The Your Mystery Party guest pre-game site will have a synopsis of the mystery, a game trailer video, the list of characters, costume suggestions, etc. Encourage your guests to get familiar with their character role, other characters, and with the premise of the mystery before your party. Using the Your Mystery Party guest pre-game site and doing the optional tasks in advance of the game have shown to reduce ‘no-shows’ to the party. Since the players have soaked in the background information, it makes the night progress more smoothly. On the other hand, it’s not mandatory – you can still play without a pre-game round. The free, printable invitations are located on the page where you purchased this game – click on the link that says ‘free, printable invitation’ under Helpful Links on the website. Download the PDF file. It is important to first save to your hard drive. Reopen with the most current version of Adobe Reader, or you may face issues. Use the text fields to fill in your information. Either print or save to your hard drive. You can email these invites as attachments to your guests to save paper costs. You will need to enter your information in the text field and save one on your hard drive for each player, changing the character to be played on each invitation. SAMPLE TIMELINE (About a 2.5 - 3.5 hour party depending on the optional games played)

1 week prior: Send pre-game task cards 1 week prior to the party. Time O: When the girls arrive, play a bonus game. (20 min) 20 minutes: Go over the game instructions and introduce each character to the group. 27 minutes: Read ransom note number 1. 30 minutes: Pass out the Round One envelopes. 32 minutes: Allow the girls time to mingle (gossip) with their round one clue cards. Serve a light snack. Mary’s clue will contain an extra note from the kidnapper and a scavenger hunt for ransom #2 hidden inside of the refrigerator in the kitchen will take place. (~20 min) 52 minutes: Play another bonus game. (~20 min) 1 hour, 10 minutes: Begin round 2 by reading ransom note number 3. 1 hour 15 minutes: Pass out the round two envelopes to the guests, allow them to mingle (gossip), solve the riddle in Binkie’s clue to find ransom note #4 hidden under the couch in the family room. (20 minutes) 1 hour, 35 minutes: Serve dinner (optional) to the guests and allow them to discuss the ransom and their clue cards. 1 hour, 45 minutes: Read ransom note number 5 to the guests after dinner. 1 hour, 50 minutes: Play another bonus game. 2 hours, 10 minutes: Pass out the Mystery Investigation Sheets to the guests and a pen/pencil. Explain that they are to start figuring out which one of them is the kidnapper. They can discuss all clues and ransom notes one-on-one (mingling and speaking with every other player in the game), in small groups, or as a group. However you do it – make sure all information is shared. 2 hours, 15 minutes: Sabrina’s given a note from the kidnapper that contains a coded message for the ransom note number 6 – hidden in the nearest bathroom. This will direct the girls to find Zangelina. Zangelina is hidden anywhere in the house. The boundaries are given to the girls, they hunt for her, and then meet back in the party room to mingle (gossip) with their round three clues. They’ll submit their guesses of ‘whodunit’ by using the Mystery Investigation Sheets. (20 - 30 min) 2 hours, 35 minutes: Another bonus game is played (20 min for one and 2 is 40 min) 2 hours, 55 minutes: Start round three by serving hot chocolate and dessert (birthday cake if this is a birthday) to the guests. The solutions are read by the guests one at a time in front of the group. (15 min) 3 hours, 10 minutes: Another party game can be played (20 min) *The party can be shortened by not playing the optional games and only having the kidnapper confess or extended by adding all of the optional games and stopping for a dinner break.

You feel that a person impersonating a fairy would try to kidnap someone just so that they can rescue them and call it magic. Goldendust once tried to say she was the Tooth Fairy. She isn’t the most honest person you’ve ever met! You do like to go to the most popular teen hangout in town (Goldendust Forest), but you avoid Goldendust when you are there.

ROUND TWO LET’S INVESTIGATE AND FIGURE OUT

WHODUNIT! INTERROGATE EVERYONE AND TAKE GOOD NOTES! WHEN YOU THINK YOU

KNOW WHO THE KIDNAPPER IS, HAND IN YOUR GUESS ON YOUR MYSTERY

INVESTIGATION SHEET! You are convinced that Goldendust is the one who kidnapped Zangelina Holie. But the only motive you can think of is that she acts like a fairy. Is that good enough? You think so. You think Goldendust did it. You overheard Iron Mary Rackham talking about how she wanted to have a girl crew member on her ship because she has a crew of fifty men. Maybe she kidnapped Zangelina and brought her to the ship?
