Haber• In Español 1 y 2 we only use one form of

haber.• You have seen the word hay which means

there is/ there are.• In the imperfect we use había for hay. It

means there was/ there were. It does not have a subject!!!!!

Remember when to use the imperfect:

• If the verb

–1. describes (it has to be in the imperfect)–2. used to / would (it was a habit or a

routine)–3. was/were +ing (ongoing action
