Setting

• -The lighting is very dark and dim and may be seen to some people as quite prison like.

• -Katniss has a dark lit face when she walks and then it appears to be light. This may connote that she has two personalities or an evil side as well as a nice side

• -The dark blue room they're sitting in gives a lot more of a scared, confined feel to it.

• -The use of the metal bars that shut behind Katniss also ties in with the way it's like a prison because it's like she’s trapped. This may also foreshadow how she acts/ does in the hunger games later on in the film.

- The spotlights above Katniss makes it seem very interrogative and on the spot, almost as if she's in a police station.

Color and costume

-The way Katniss and Peeta are in matching uniform may show that they have to follow certain rules, making them seem less powerful.

-Katniss’ costume makes her seem very broad shouldered and a little flat chested. This may suggest that her feminism has been taken away and she's becoming a lot more manly.

-Seneca Crane- the way he’s all in red and black may symbolize his evilness and he’s always first to look at katniss, this may show he’s a threat towards katniss too.

sound

• Sound-

• -The empty sound when the arrow hits the target shows that nobody is really listening or paying attention, this creates a mood in the room and a tension between Katniss and the council

• When they’re talking, they’re all very jokey and it shows they aren’t really taking any real attention to what’s happening in the scene.
