TSHWANE BUS TARRIFSThe City of Tshwane has introduced a new tariff structure for both A Re Yeng and Tshwane Bus Services. With effect from 1 July 2017, the new tariff structure will enable Tshwane commuters to use both services (A Re Yeng and Tshwane Bus Services) by means of the same Connector Card.

• The maximum distance for a trip is 71 km, and the maximum fare charged is R22.00 and the minimum fare will be R7.00 subject to discounts and concessions.• The fares are applicable to all Tshwane Bus Services and A Re Yeng routes.• The transfer window period is 45 minutes for A Re Yeng and 60 minutes for Tshwane Bus Services. • Trips can only be undertaken by using the Connector Card.

Travel Points

• The higher the amount loaded, the more the discount that is awarded by means of allowing more travel points that are loaded onto the Connector Card.

• Travel points are valid for 3 years.• Commuters will be allowed to load from a minimum of 20 points for R20,00 to a maximum of 640 points for R500,00. Top-ups from R80,00 and above will attract discount.• A loading fee of R1,50 will be charged for loading under R60; 2,5% will be charged for loading above R60; and 3,5% will be charged for all loading done with third-party merchants.

Travel fares

• You can load travel points and/or cash value.• You cannot convert cash value to travel points.• You cannot convert travel points to cash value.• No refund are allowed. Terms and conditions apply.• Maximum travel points load = 2 500 points.• Maximum cash value on card = R1 500 (balance on the card).• The maximum cash load per month = R3 000 in total.• There is no loading fee for travel points

Travel value

When loading cash value, a loading fee payable as follows by commuter:

• For cash loads below R60 a fee of R1,50 will be charged. • For cash loads above R60 a fee of R2,50 will be charged.

Travel points

• When loading travel points, no loading fee is payable by the commuter.

Terms and Conditions

• No cash is accepted on buses; only the Connector Card is allowed for travel.• If a person illegally either taps on or off further than 0,5 km from a recognised station or stop on a route, the maximum fare will be charged for a single trip; or alternatively the system will assume either the previous stop or the next stop as the legitimate stop for late or early tap-on or tap-off respectively.• If a person does not tap off or not at all, at the next time they tap a penalty fare will be charged for a single trip. The penalty fare is R18,00• Sharing of the Connector Card is not allowed. Treat your Connector Cad as cash.• The Connector Card will expire on the date imprinted on the face thereof, subject to the terms and conditions supplied with the Connector at purchase and activation. Concession cards must be renewed annually by 31 December.

• The lost card must be reported at a customer care centre or A Re Yeng station.• We require your ID for verification of Connector Card holder details and transfer of points if necessary. • An additional R25,00 will required for a new card.• Non-registered cards are not assigned to an individual and therefore no assistance will be provided if it is lost.

What happens when bus has a faulty validator and I cannot tap in/out?

The bus driver will activate a connector query form available in the bus. The commuter will be required to complete the form to request a refund of penalty fare. The turnaround time for faulty OBVs is 48 hours.
