The 47’ x 102” 90,000# GVR rated Doonan®

Platinum™ trailer was the ideal model for the

customer’s application, providing outstanding

performance, while incorporating robustness,

versatility and safety for the end customer.

This new addition to the customer’s fleet

enables them to transport a forklift piggy-back,

as well as large, heavy, unusually shaped loads.

The Doonan® Platinum™ flatbed trailer

combines the lightweight, bolt together deck

of the Chaparral II™ with the lightweight,

welded steel main beams of the Doonan®

Black Gold™.

The steel and aluminum combo, 22.5 tire,

tandem axle trailer included a box tube rear sill

for accommodating the forklift installation. The

forklift is carried at the rear of the trailer, and is

installed as high as possible to avoid contact

with the ground.

The forklift mounting kit included welded support brackets for the front wheels of the

forklift. The front tires of the forklift act as

shock absorbers, ensuring that very little shock

is felt by the machine in transit. The machine is

held in place by two H/D pins, with two chains

for safety. It can be mounted or dismounted

from the trailer in a matter of just a few

minutes.

Doonan® has installed forklift kits to haul

many different brands of forklifts. Kits can be

incorporated into the trailer design on

Chaparral II™, Platinum™, Diamond™ & Black

Gold™ models. Within each model, a wide

variety of length and axle spread combinations

can be achieved.
