    Junior & Yilsi

This month, Id like to introduce you to Junior and Yilsy Canales.

Two of the sweetest and gentlest children you will ever have

the pleasure to meet. Junior (7) and Yilsy (9) have been a part

of the DC program for many years and every time you see them,

all you want to do is pick them up, hug and love on them for all

eternity. Neither of these children says much, but they dish out

a lot of smiles, and a lot of hugs.

I took the picture above just a few days ago, and as you may

gather, they look a little small for the average age of their peers.

Due to the level of malnutrition experienced in their early years,

their physical growth was somewhat interrupted. We chose to

keep these angels of God in the program beyond the normal

graduation age, so as to provide them a good and balanced

nutritional meal twice a day. This also allowed their mother

Blanca to attend to the other 3 children in the home.

    Blanca

Blanca is the sole caretaker for all 5 kids, while the father works

in the mountains, or, in other cities, to help make ends meet.

Blanca has an older child, Jairo who helps out with the younger

ones. She also has a special needs child who lost a leg at birth

due to an infection, and a newborn that just came into this

    world 2 months ago.

Earlier this year, one of our groups, on behalf of another couple

who knows, loves and cares for the Canales family, delivered a

high-tech baby stroller to Blanca, to help address some of the

serious needs she has in caring for her children. Please pray for

Blanca, as she struggles from day-to-day in finding the right

balance in caring for all the needs of her children.

    New Home

Great news! Thanks to many of you and your kind generosity,

Blanca and her family now have a new home! The home is

located in the area where all the other homes are being built,

and in my opinion, she has the best location on the property.

Her house is located at the highest peak of the property and itoverlooks the entire Colonia de Professores. The home was just

finished yesterday with the cement floor still in the drying phase.

It will be just a matter of time before she and her family can

    move into her new home.

Stay tuned to my facebook page for more pictures of Blanca,

her family, and their new home
