Where can I buy it?
Odourless and colourless, Aquasalis is a unique saline
sodium solution in a liquid, easy to spray form.
The product ´s flavour is twice that to be found in granulated
salt , the taste of which it retains. The low presence of
potassium chloride makes it possible to avoid the bitter and
“metallic” taste typical of other sodium-based products
currently available on the market.
Aquasalis comes in 100 ml, 125 ml and 200 ml sprays,
available in these versions for large retailers and chemist
outlets. Also in the Premium version for the catering channels.
75% water, 25% sodium chloride.
Made of geometrically-shaped plastic, with a plexiglass cap
and nozzle spray.

Aquasalis can be sprayed according to taste on every type

Thanks to its composition (75% less sodium chloride than in sea salt). Aquasalis comes into line
with the guidelines of the WHO (World Health Organisation), which recommend a daily
salt consumption inferior to 5 grammes and of 3,519 mg potassium for every adult.
Moreover, the WHO has paid special attention to the regulating of salt consumption for children,
which should be adapted to weight, height and energy consumed during the day.
Sodium is to be found in a natural form in many foodstuffs, varying from milk (about 50 mg sodium
per 100 g) to eggs (about 80 mg/100g). But it is also to be found, in much greater quantities, in
processed foods, such as bread (about 250 mg / 100g), sausage rolls (about 1,500 mg / 100g)
or seasonings such as soya sauce. (About 7,000 mg / 100g)
This why Aquasalis, even before its official debut on the market, has been chosen by many
companies in the food production sector as an ingredient offering an alternative to salt
for the industrial production of pastries.

An integrated communication plan
In order to launch Aquasalis on the Italian market, the company has planned an important
investment in integrated communication, which shall include both the targeting of press
office and Digital Communication to achieve maximum visibility on the main Social
Networks (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter). This shall be accompanied by the re-
styling of the Aquasalis.eu website. Moreover, Aquasalis has set up an advertising
campaign in the main magazines pertaining to those sectors being targeted for the

REMARKS:
Aquasalis saline solution has proved to be in line with the
standards for smell and scent, with neutral characteristics.
In the same breath, the Aquasalis saline solution is
different owing to its higher saulty flavour.
SENSORY FEATURES
A panel composed of 8 judges, trained and specialised in
sensorial analysis, have conducted sensory analysis on two
samples: one of Aquasalis saline spray solution and the other
one on a ssample of refined sea (granular) salt.
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS DESCRIPTIVE
There have been 2 quantitative sessions (n° 2 replies) in
which the saline solution was compared with REFINED SEA
SALT STANDARD (STD) using a graduated scale from -1 to
+1 in which the STD product was placed on the point O (zero).
The key features characterizing the quality profile of the
product under study were highlighted as follows:
- the intensity of the smell sensation perceived before the
product is tasted in the mouth;
- its intense aroma: the sensation perceived by the olfactory
organ tasting indirect route of the product;
- intensity salty taste fundamental taste mainly perceptible
on the tongue and in areas side immediately surrounding
The above mentioned samples have been tested in equivalent
weight conditions: judges have found that 0,7 g of Aquasalis saline
solution and 0,7 g of granular refined salt.
The significant difference of each sample compared to the
STANDARD, on the "O" value, has been highlighted by the
confidence interval (CI) added to or subtracted from the sample
mean.
