Bible Classes Are Starting Back!! We are very excited to announce that beginning the week of Sunday, October 4, all children and adult classes will be starting back on Sun-days and Wednesdays. All children’s classes will be upstairs in the new building. When you exit the front of the auditorium and exit up the ramp, that will be the area for the children’s classes. There will be peo-ple there to direct you to where you need to be. You can see John Alli-son if you have any questions. Teen classes will be in the Youth Center, which is in the old basement area. We are in the process of organizing several adult classes, but for the fall quarter only there will be one adult class. On Sunday mornings Horace and Steve will be teaching a class in the auditorium, and on Wednesday nights Steve will be teach-ing an adult class in the new fellowship room downstairs. There is one important change for Wednesday nights: During the time of COVID everyone will go straight to class. There will be no devotional time on Wednesday nights to minimize close contact in the auditorium. Here are the guidelines for the children’s classes: • Children ages 4 and should wear masks.
• Keep children in the same seat from week to week so that if one is positive for COVID you know who was sitting closest.
• Masks should be worn in the hallways.
• Parents of Cradle Roll and 2 & 3 year-olds are to remain with their child and hold them during the class.
• Teachers are to wear masks.
• Tables and chairs are to be sanitized after class.
• There will be hand sanitizers in each room. We are so thankful for the precious time we have for Bible class when we get to open up our hearts and minds to God’s Word. There are very few things more valuable than this faith-building time together. May we not take it for granted. Hope to see you in class this week!
Lads to Leaders The competition at the convention did not happen this year due to COVID, but we did have several who participated in the year-round awards. Here is who received an award: 11th Grade Song Leading (Gold): Drew Mattson Bible Bowl High Score: Sarah Hazelton, Aiden McKenzie, Archer Shep-herd, Maya Shepherd Pearls High Score: Clara Holloway, Logan Jefcoat, Aiden McKenzie, Tae-lor Ray, Ellie Shepherd, Maya Shepherd, Tanner Shepherd, Ashley Thrasher Congratulations to all these winners who worked hard all year round! Audio Visual Volunteers Needed
We need help running the new sound and video sys-tem for worship services. At every service we will need one person running the projector, one person running the sound system, and probably another person starting and ending the live stream. Please let Kevin Rush know if you would be willing to help with this!
Polishing the Pulpit Media Library
Sycamore has purchased an online resource that is accessible to the whole congregation .Go to watch.polishingthepulpit.com and you can view doz-ens of lessons from the most renown speakers in the brotherhood. Many of these are taken from past years of this annual lectureship in Pigeon Forge. It is a tre-mendous resource that is available to all our members. Please take advantage of these lessons that can teach great biblical principles and challenge your faith.
Mowing & Landscaping
We need several men to be on the landscaping list for the building. Ideally every week, 3 or more men would oversee the landscaping; which will include mowing, trim-ming, blowing off sidewalks and the parking lots and litter removal. At this time, this job may not require three men, but as the building process nears completion, 3 would be a good number. Weather permitting, we would like to see this done on Fridays or Saturdays. Please sign up on the attached link or see Kevin Rush if you have any ques-tions. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Sk8RkLQUylYB0L5rG2bvUTFoniQuQAffcbccWXoXVYM/edit?usp=sharing
Men’s Trap Shoot
All men of the congregation are invited to a Trap Shoot on October 24. Sign up on the bulletin board in the foyer if you plan on attending. More details later.
