PRESIDENT’S NOTE:
Hello Key Clubbers!
Cheers to another wonderful month of service!
I am truly astounded by each of your efforts as a member to go above and beyond
the standards of Key Club. You are the reason that we can proudly say we are the
largest club on campus, one of the strongest clubs in our division, and a Diamond
Distinguished club!
This month has been incredible with the ongoing events that we have continued
such as PetCo Bunny Adoptions, Cranes Workshops, and turn-in events. Along
with this, our involvement with events on campus has increased heavily, through
events such as Polynesian Club Luau, and theater/choir ushering. Even though
the school year is coming to an end, it is clear that your passion for service is not
fading, and that is definitely something to celebrate. Our service doesn’t stop short
in the summer! Some events
you can look forward to include: Concerts in the Park, Region 13
Picnic, beach clean-ups, division socials, and RELAY FOR LIFE!
Speaking of celebration, our End-of-the-Year Banquet, taking place
on June 4th is just around the corner. This is truly “A Night to
Celebrate” ! It is a night to recognize those who have shown out-
standing dedication towards Key Club, the retired Seniors that are
graduating, and just a wonderful year of friendship and service.
Please join us for some great food, wonderful music, recognition
awards, a photo booth, Key Club trivia, and some lovely speeches!
Let’s finish this year strong, Key Clubbers! Once again, I am so
honored and blessed to serve you. Though I’m still adjusting and
might I add, it isn’t easy, I am loving every minute of it, and it’s all
thanks to each of you. Your dedication is so inspiring and I can
say with full honest that this organization truly does make me “feel
good” with every ounce of my being!
Serving you always,
Sona Senapati

Official Chino Hills High School Key Club Newsletter-Page 3
Congratulations to the member of the
month for May, Kalen Chang! Over
the last month Kalen has shown tre-
mendous dedication to Key Club, at-
tending a wide variety of events. From
the Wickman Carnival to the CHHS
“Zombie Movie” ushering, Kalen has
shown his love for Key Club as well as
service. Even though has received this
honor for only this month, he has
been heavily involved with our events
throughout year. Kalen, only a fresh-
man, has been a true inspiration for
our club so far and we hope that many
will follow his lead in the future. Once
again, Congratulations Kalen!

reaching down and lifting people up.” Anonymous
Member (s) in Good Stand-
ing are those dedicated Key
Club members who have
reached the goal of 50
hours of service this year.
This recognition is based
on the number of hours
obtained by the individual
in the last Key Club year.
This past Key Club year
consisted of the time be-
tween the end of the Dis-
trict Convention in 2012
and the end of the 2013
District Convention. This
is a great achievement for
our school. Myself, as well
as the rest of the of-
ficer board are
thrilled with the amount of people who
have earned this milestone. Well done
Huskies!

Event Recap: Wickman Mother and Son Carnival:
On May 10th, from 5-8:30pm, members and officers alike from Chino Hills High School attended Wickman Elementary School to volunteer at their annual Mother and Son carni-
val. From game booths to dancing with the kids, it was a night filled with fun for everyone. Our Key Club was given the task of handling the game booths. The kids would come up to booths, and for free, would play the games. If they won the game, they would receive tickets that would later be put into a raffle. With hundreds of kids excited of the prospect of winning prizes, our booths were busy from start to end. Laughter and smiles went around the whole night as kids as well as parents enjoyed themselves. Some of our members were
even asked to a dance-off against the elementary students, which was a blast, although we didn’t always win. This was an excellent opportunity for us to spread our Key Club mes-sage to the students and parents. Wickman was so impressed with our efforts that night that they asked us if we were willing to commit to a long term relationship. The Wickman Mother and Son Carnival was a great event for our key club as we were able to connect to the communities youth, help create an unforgettable night, and secure our club’s future volunteer interactions with Wickman.

Event recap: Theatre Ushering
Lights,
Camera,
Action! On May 16th, 17th, and 18th,
our Key Club had the privilege of usher-
ing parents, students, and even a few crit-
ics at our very own Chino Hills High The-
atre. Our club was given the task of
handing out the play programs to the audience. We also helped guide the audience
members in and out the theatre as quietly as possible to avoid any disturbances that
would disrupt the play. From the 6:45-8:30pm, our Key Clubbers helped maintain
order in the theatre. I had the privilege to attend on May 17th, I had a great time
ushering as well as watching our fellow classmates’ acting skills. I would personally
like to thank Kalen Chang (pictured above) for his efforts that evening. Although I
had to remind a few people to lower their voices during the performance, I found the
evening to be a night filled with fun, excitement, and best of all, Key Club service!

End-of-the-Year Banquet Preview:
Hello Key Club members! Tuesday, June 4, will be our Banquet at the McCoy Equestrian Center (across from Ayala High School) from 6:30-9:30! We will be celebrating the amazing year of service we have experienced together this year as well as recognizing the mem-bers who have gone above and beyond by earning at least 50 hours, the seniors who have earned their stoles by serving 100 hours, and EVERYONE who has participated in the Key Club events this year and selflessly showed their love and passion for helping others. We will reflect on all the amazing memories that we have shared in the past year through a slideshow made by our own Tech Editor, Jaie. Some seniors will share their journey with this club and I assure you there will be some tears involved! Also, there will be a Photobooth to take pictures with our fellow Husky/Giraffes and to look fabu-lous! And of course, there will be AWE-SOME food that you won't wan to miss out on. Basically, banquet will be a night of laughs, reminiscing, tears, music, dancing, AND MUCH MORE! SO PLEASE ATTEND OUR BANQUET OR YOU WILL REGRET IT VERY MUCH!
