  • The Best in School Adventures

The Adventure Center is the best outdoor experiential adventure for activities that cultivate leadership skills, team building, and character development! We create exciting and competitive

experiences designed to instill confidence, cooperation, communication, and connection between group members by offering:

    • Asheville Treetops Adventure Park – largest WNC aerial challenge course in the trees with

70 unique climbing, rolling, and swinging elements in a wooded park with smart clips

    • Asheville Zipline Canopy Adventures - urban canopy tour with 11 ziplines & 3 sky bridges

in treetop platforms on adventure towers with views of downtown

    • Tree Quest- recreational tree climbing on a large oak tree

    • Team Building-facilitated programs highlighting the challenges of processes such as

communication, group decision making, task sharing/delegation and completion

    • Kolo Bike Park- mountain bike sampler-pack designed for all rider levels

    • Whitewater Rafting at 2 locations close to Asheville- float trips to Class III & IV

    • NC Curriculum Programs- curriculum based programs that can be paired with an adventure

activity or team building to complete your day! (See the back of this page)

Our activities instill personal development and self-confidence, encourage cooperation with others, enrich problem solving skills, and offer fun with a challenge. While expanding your comfort zone, each person

is supporting and planning with others in the team, developing positive relationships, building trust and inspiring positive changes.

Nowhere in Asheville are there so many different outdoor activities in one place that

offer personal growth and discovery. Guests are encouraged to expand their personal comfort zones, increase their self-confidence, and support others challenged to do the same. We offer opportunities to

move from good to great friends, team members, or leaders as guests literally climb to new heights!

  • NC Curriculum Programs

Fourth Grade 4.L.1-Understand the effects of environmental changes, adaptations and behaviors that enable animals to survive in changing habitats

    • “Plant/Animal Growth Conditions” program gives examples of changes in an organism's environment that are either beneficial or harmful.

    • Best paired with Treequest/Treetops Adventure Park

Fifth Grade 5.P.1-Understand force, motion and the relationship between them

    • Zipline experiments that explain how gravity, friction, and weight affect the motion of objects. • Infer the motion of objects in terms of how far they travel in a certain amount of time and the direction in

which they travel; Predict the effect of a given force or a change in mass on the motion of an object • Best paired with Ziplines/Kid Zip

5.L.2-Understand the interdependence of plants and animals with their ecosystem

    • Classify the organism within an ecosystem according to the function they serve: producer, consumer, or decomposer

    • Infer the effects that may result from the interconnected relationship of plants and animals • Best paired with Treequest/Treetops Adventure Park

Sixth Grade 6.L.1-Understand the structures, processes and behaviors of plants that enable them to survive and reproduce

    • Explain the significance of the processes of photosynthesis, respiration, and transpiration to the survival of green plants and other organisms

    • Best paired with Treequest/Treetops Adventure Park

6.L.2-Understand the flow of energy through ecosystems and the responses of populations to the biotic and abiotic factors in their environment

    • Summarize how energy derived from the sun is used by plants to produce sugars and is transferred within food chains and food webs from producers to consumers to decomposers

    • Explain how plants respond to external stimuli to enhance survival in an environment • Summarize how the abiotic factors of biomes affect the ability of organisms to grow, survive, and/or create

their own food. • Best paired with Treequest/Treetops Adventure Park

  • NC Curriculum Programs

Seventh Grade 7.P.1-Understand motion, the effects of forces on motion and the graphical representations of motion

    • Explain how the motion of an object can be described by its position, direction, of motion, and speed with respect to some other object with zipline/balance experiments and the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces acting on an object (including friction, gravity, and magnets)

    • Best Paired with Zipline/Treetops Adventure Park

7.P.2-Understand forms of energy, energy transfer and transformation and conservation of mechanical systems • Explain how simple machines such as inclined planes, pulleys, levers and wheel and axles are used to create

mechanical advantage and increase efficiency • Hands on observations of different mechanical advantage systems used in aerial parks including trolley

wheels, sheer reduction device, pulleys, FG9 rescue device • Best Paired with Zipline/Treetops Adventure Park

7.L.2-Understand the relationship of the mechanisms of cellular reproduction, patterns of inheritance and external factors to potential variation among offspring

    • Explain the impact of the environment and lifestyle choices on biological inheritance and survival with tree identification

    • Best Paired with Treetops Adventure Park/TreeQuest

Eight Grade 8.L.1-Understand the hazards caused by agent of diseases that affect living organisms

    • Summarize the basic characteristics of viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites relating to the spread, treatment, and prevention of diseases.

    • Look at different fungi on tree and their root balls and discuss how tree galls relate to our own body systems • Best Paired with Treetops Adventure Park/TreeQuest

8.L.3-Understand how organisms interact with/respond to the biotic and abiotic components of their environment

    • Explain how factors such as food, water, shelter and space affect populations in an ecosystem • Summarize the relationship among producers, consumers, and decomposers including the positive and

negative consequences of such interactions • Break down the biotic and abiotic components within the treetops course. Label each, its niche and figure out

how they interact with other things within the park ecosystem • Explain how the flow of energy within food webs is interconnected with the cycling of matter (including

water, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen.) • Best Paired with Treetops Adventure Park/TreeQuest

  • NC Curriculum Programs

    High School

Psc.1.1-Understand motion in terms of speed, velocity, acceleration and momentum • Explain motion in terms of frame of reference, distance and displacement • Experiments with ziplines that compare speed, velocity, acceleration and momentum using

investigations, graphing, scalar quantities and vector quantities • Best Paired with Zipline/Treetops Adventure Park

Bio.2.1-Analyze the interdependence of living organisms within their environments • Analyze the flow of energy and cycling of matter (water, carbon, nitrogen and oxygen) through ecosystems

relating the significance of each to maintaining the health and sustainability of an ecosystem. • Bio.2.1.2-Explain various ways organisms interact with each other (including predation, competition,

parasitism, mutualism) and with their environments resulting in stability within ecosystems • Explain why ecosystems can be relatively stable over hundreds or thousands of years, even though

populations may fluctuate (emphasizing availability of food, availability of shelter, number of predators and disease).

    • Best Paired with Treetops Adventure Park/TreeQuest

Phy.1.1-Analyze the motion of objects. • With Zipline experiments, analyze motion graphically and numerically using vectors, graphs and calculations • Analyze motion in one dimension using time, distance, displacement, velocity, and acceleration • Analyze motion in two dimensions using angle of trajectory, time, distance, displacement, velocity, and
