The Acadian is a very traditional log home with all the modern conveniences. The floor layout is one of the most versatile and one of the easier homes to build. The foot print could be 28 x 36 or 32 x 44 and the exterior will still have it’s classic appeal. The dormers can be gable or shed style for more room. We have built this home with the master suite on the main floor and two bedrooms on the loft floor. It seems that the most popular version has the two bedrooms on the main floor and the loft floor consists of the master suite, a sitting area overlooking the great room and possibly an exterior deck off of the master bedroom. Even when we use massive 14 inch full length mid diameter pine we can fit this onto one truck load. We can ship this to Colorado for under 4,000US. Because of the huge logs you will need a crane on site to reassemble the log shell. You should budget 12 hours plus travel time for the crane. We will send a log builder to supervise and you should have a carpenter and someone that has exprience around a crane.
