The Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults

with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more

than 4.2 million athletes in 170 countries. Special Olympics competitions are held

every day, all around the world—including local, national and regional competitions,

adding up to more than 70,000 events a year.

Throughout the entire evening, Ladies Night offered an array of talented entertainment,

including actor Eric Estrada, universally known for his role as Officer Frank ‘Ponch’

Poncherello in the 1970s TV hit series “CHiPs.” Mr. Estrada donated his time to

attend the social hour of the event and graciously took photos with participants and

fans.

The patio entertainment and DJ was saxophone sensation, J. Boykin, who has

appeared on the “Oprah” show. Several disco dancers from “Liz Watts and Company”

gave an outstanding performance and taught the ladies steps to the popular 1970s

disco-era dance, “The Hustle.”

The charity event was a complete success! The ladies of the Department shared their

commitment to the community and the love of mankind, all while celebrating with old

friends and meeting new friends to raise money for a worthy cause.
