Local business owner Rachel Nicks will share tips on changing the direction of your career and following your passion. Keynote Speaker Julie Holunga, owner of Chinook Executive Solutions, will share the power of language in the workplace. Women from all over the mountain area are encouraged to register now. Community Appreciation Party a Big Success!

On July 13 we co-hosted a Community Appreciation party with EPRD. Many attended, fun was had by all. We wanted to make sure to thank our Senior Services Sponsors who helped pay for the event. They each made a small donation to help with food and showcased the types of services available in our mountain community. Join us for our 16th annual self-guided, road tour of award-winning artists in and around Evergreen. Open Door Studios is a well advertised and well attended event that provides prospective visitors with a full color tour booklet which includes a location map, artists’ bios and photo of their work. Participants are then free to choose which studios they visit and enjoy a scenic tour of the Evergreen mountain area during the fall color season. The tour book is available in and around

Come celebrate the new location for the Center for the Arts Evergreen! The new building’s

Grand Opening is on September 16th from 4pm-8pm.

Center for the Arts Evergreen is proud to announce that the future home for the center, which was purchased in October, 2015, has received a Historical Designation from Jefferson County. Part of the building was the original Soda Creek school house which dates back to the late 1880s. The former Bergen Park Church (located on Hwy. 65 in Bergen Park, Evergreen) is a historic structure in Evergreen that was in danger of demolition. The preservation of this building was a compelling reason to choose this the site for the new Center. The historic integrity of the building will remain, but cutting-edge design, technology and function will be the focus of its transformation.

Senior’s Resource Has a New Director!

Recently longtime SRC head John Zabawa announced his retirement and the search was on for a new leader.

The Senior’s Resource center is proud to announce they have hired Monica Roers, originally from Minnesota,

to lead the organization forward. She has served as the director of community support services for the Adams

County Department of Human Services as well as other nonprofits. SRC has three locations, Wheat Ridge,

Littleton and of course our Evergreen office which is run by Nancy Tzeng. The senior population in the moun-

tain community will double over the next 10-15 years and The Senior’s Resource Center is making plans to

meet the local growing demands.
