PRINCIPAL’S REPORT—WEEK 8 Congratulations to Mrs McGregor and her class for gaining
the first place prize in the Sam Lewis Peace and
Environmental Award. This competition asked the children
to develop pieces of work that encouraged working together
to promote peace and care for the environment. It is yet
another significant achievement for Armidale City Public
School.
Swim School will be starting next Monday. This program is
for the children in Years 3-6 and is a vitally important part
of the PDHPE curriculum. Swimming is a skill that all
children need to be proficient at, especially with the
upcoming summer holidays. Please ensure that your child
returns all money and has their swimming costumes every
day for the next two weeks.
As the year draws to an end, I would like to remind the
children that appropriate behaviour and application to
learning is still expected at Armidale City Public School.
The same rules and consequences still apply right until the
last day of term.
The end of year is fast approaching. During this time we
are lucky to be able to celebrate the achievements of the
children. This year we will be holding three separate
assemblies to acknowledge the achievement of the children.
The first assembly will be next Thursday at 10am for the
Sports Awards. On Monday 7 December at 10am will be the
Arts Awards and Wednesday 9 December at 10am will be
the presentation of the Principal’s Medallions and the
announcement of the School Councillors.
Thank you to all who have supported the recent fundraisers
held at the school.
A reminder, that this Friday is our Parent and Community
Helpers Morning Tea. It will be held in the Library at 11am.
We would dearly like to see you there as our way of
thanking you for all your hard work. Your support and help
add to a wonderful community feel to our school, and helps
make everything run smoothly! Thank you. Mrs Jodie Ridley

P&C NEWS
So many things to say thank you for this week:
The cupcake stall was a great success. There was a fantastic
number and range of cupcakes donated and the
kids enjoyed spending their gold coins for a treat.
Thank you to all those who spent time making the
beautiful cupcakes and to the grown-up and kid
helpers on the two stalls at recess as well as in the
afternoon. We’ll let you know how much we made next week.
Thank you too for supporting the Pizza meal deal for Oliver
Freeman. We raised enough money to cover the fee that he has
pay to attend the National Athletics. Thank you to Madeleine
for donating extra money and leftover items to the P&C.
Again, thank you to the parent
helpers, especially those who
came on both Monday and
Tuesday! We wish Oliver all the best at Nationals!
We’ve had a large number of kids and some adults respond to
the BIG projects survey. Thank you for all those great ideas!
There is still time to have your say about what projects the
P&C should pursue. Go to www.surveymonkey.com/r/
K8ZXMBD and answer the two easy questions. Check the
ACPS Facebook page for easy access to the link.
We managed to cover a number of books on Friday but there
will always be more. Be on the lookout for another working
bee in the New Year.
We invite the Parents and
Carers to stay and be
entertained after
the K-2 Sports Day
as the 3-6 Orchestra
will be performing out on the
basketball court.
This will be followed by the
Drumming Group.
