Discount for drinks when you bring your own cupStarting from 1st of May, if you bring your own cup or container to the local drinks shops, they are obliged to give you discounts. Most shops offer around $1 to $3 dollars off from the price, while some offers up to $10. Should the shops fail to rebate their customers, they are subject to fines up to 300,000 NT dollars.

It was estimated 260,000 cups are used everyday in Tainan alone, which is a rather large amount for the environment to di-gest. If each person uses 1 less plastic cups everyday, that’s 365 cups in a year, equivalent to 2.5kg of landfill and 4 kg of carbon emission. and 4 kg of carbon emission.
