This exhibition seeks to present NZ icons and clichés, especially to do with our Rugby preoccupation, in an all new way. With works in clay, paint, wax and even toast, this is sure to refresh your Rugby tired mind in time for the Semi-finals! Until Sun 16 October, 10am - 5pm. Sun 16 Oct - Diwali Festival of Lights India’s best-loved festival is an ancient Hindu festival that symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and the renewal of life. With live performances, sand sculpting, puppeteers and delicious food on offer, there is something for everyone! No matter where you are, keep an eye out for the fireworks at 9.45pm. Volunteer Opportunity If you’re interested in meeting people from all over the world and being part of the biggest event New Zealand has ever hosted, you should find out more about being a Rugby World Cup 2011 volunteer. Tournament organisers are looking for enthusiastic people to volunteer in a variety of roles, all aimed at making RWC 2011 an outstanding success. On Campus Tue 18 Oct - The Road to Kartsigar This is a rare opportunity to hear from one of New Zealand’s most celebrated composers, Professor John Psathas. He will give an insight into his creative process by tracing the genesis of one of his defining works, Kartsigar. The New Zealand String Quartet will then perform the work.
