The buildings that provide access to the airplanes (via gates) aretypically called concourses
Smaller airports have one terminal while larger airports haveseveral terminals and/or concourses. At small airports, the singleterminal building typically serves all of the functions of a terminal
and a concourse.
Some larger airports have one terminal that is connected tomultiple concourses via walkways, skybridges, or undergroundtunnels (such as !enver "nternational Airport). Some largerairports have more than one terminal, each with one or moreconcourses (such as #ew $ork%s &' Airport). Still other largerairports have multiple terminals each of which incorporate thefunctions of a concourse (such as !allas/'ort orth "nternationalAirport).
