Principal’s Report
We would like to respectfully acknowledge the Elders past and present of the Wijabul
Wiyabal people and other peoples of Bundjalung Nation. We acknowledge that they are the first peoples of
this land on which our school stands.

required duties and had students at the centre of all decision making on a personal and school level. Liz has
been part of the leadership team at Lismore Public School since her appointment as Assistant Principal in
1994 and has actively engaged with the broader school community during this time. Her ability to form positive
relationships across the school and her knowledge of all things “Lismore Public” will be missed by students,
staff and our school community. Staff will farewell Liz on the last day of school this year.
STUDENT PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress reports for Semester 2 will be sent home with students on Monday 14th December. If you do
not receive your child’s report on this day please contact the school. Reports that are not distributed by the end
of the school year will be posted.
END OF YEAR ACTIVITIES
Our end of year activities have commenced this week with our Stage 3 Legends Activities and our Arrrbee Fun
Day. We will then have Presentation Day and our Year 6 Graduation High Tea at Summerland Farm next week.
Our end of year activities look very different due to COVID 19 restrictions and school staff have done their best
to ensure we celebrate the achievements and milestones for our students in line with guidelines at the time of
planning.
I would again like to thank our school parent community for their support of our efforts during this challenging
time. I know it is disappointing for parents to miss activities like the Year 6 Graduation and Presentation Day.
Please continue to show your support by not trying to attend either event. Both Presentation Day and The Year
6 Graduation will be filmed and uploaded to a closed YouTube channel and we encourage families to view
these events with their children so students can be acknowledged for their efforts by those closest to them.
The last day for student attendance is Wednesday 16th December. Staff will be onsite on Thursday 17th
December to participate in professional learning related to our School Improvement Plan and collaborative
planning for 2021.
Have a great last week at school everyone. A reminder that staff will be maintaining high behaviour
expectations until the end of the school year.
Remember Arrrbee says “Rights, Respect, Responsibility”.

COVID-19 Attendance Guidelines
Responsibility—Be Accountable
The following guidelines will support schools in en-
suring that student attendance continues in schools.
All students should be either:
at school
at home because they are currently unwell
at home due to self-isolation requirements
at home because they have a medical certificate
which states that they are unable to return to
school due to an ongoing medical condition (or in
limited cases where a family member has an
ongoing medical condition).
If a student develops flu-like symptoms while at
school, they will be sent home and are not to return
to school until they have received a negative COVID-
19 test result which is received and sighted by the
school. Students will be marked as ‘Sick’ during this
period.
Please see the included list of symptoms. If any
student attends school with any of these symptoms,
parents will be contacted to collect them.
Update from the P&C
The LPS P&C had our last meeting for the year on Monday night. We would like to thank our core P&C volun-
teers and members who have spent so many, many hours this year putting together book club orders, volun-
teering in the canteen, organising fundraisers, applying for grants to support our School, organising our fi-
nances through COVID-19 and putting together our amazing School Christmas Raffle. Thank-you for all your
efforts as these things cannot happen without volunteers like you!
We would also like to sincerely thank Jackie Nilon (LPS Principal) and all of the amazing teaching and sup-
port staff at LPS. Thank-you for all the of the work that you do to support our students… especially over this
difficult year. Our students are lucky to have such an amazing School community!
The P&C would like to invite all members of the School Community to join the P&C in 2021 to stay up to
date with what is happening within the school and to have your say!
We hope all families have a safe and relaxing summer holiday.
