Principal’s Message Dear Parents and Carers, Congratulations to our Year 6 students for their effort and participation in the Social Enterprise project running each week at Alstonville HS. We are entering the exciting phase of the project, with all students today being assigned roles within their group, to work on particular things at school in the week between meetings. Next week, each group will pitch their idea to a panel consisting of members from Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship and receive expert feedback. In the weeks following, groups will be given a ‘loan’ from which they can purchase materials and begin to make and test their products, with the ultimate aim of being ready to sell at a pop up market day to be held at Alstonville HS in week 9. It will be interesting to see which groups are able to repay their loan, make a profit and donate those profits to a local community organisation. Planning is underway for Rous PS to host the annual Southern Cross Community of Small Schools Chess and Draughts Day. All schools can nominate 2 students from each of Stage 2 and Stage 3 for both Chess and Draughts. If necessary, play offs will be held at school to determine the Rous PS representatives. It is so exciting that we will be able to begin our 2021 Kinder Orientation next week. We can’t wait to welcome all the pre-schoolers to our wonderful school. To assist us in providing information about our school to new and returning Kinder families, there will be a Zoom session from 10am next Tuesday. Please see below for Zoom link. Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Congratulations to our Year 6 students for their effort and participation in the Social Enterprise

project running each week at Alstonville HS. We are entering the exciting phase of the project,

with all students today being assigned roles within their group, to work on particular things at

school in the week between meetings. Next week, each group will pitch their idea to a panel

consisting of members from Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship and receive expert

feedback. In the weeks following, groups will be given a ‘loan’ from which they can purchase

materials and begin to make and test their products, with the ultimate aim of being ready to

sell at a pop up market day to be held at Alstonville HS in week 9. It will be interesting to see

which groups are able to repay their loan, make a profit and donate those profits to a local

community organisation.

Planning is underway for Rous PS to host the annual Southern Cross Community of Small

Schools Chess and Draughts Day. All schools can nominate 2 students from each of Stage 2 and

Stage 3 for both Chess and Draughts. If necessary, play offs will be held at school to determine

the Rous PS representatives.

It is so exciting that we will be able to begin our 2021 Kinder Orientation next week. We can’t

wait to welcome all the pre-schoolers to our wonderful school. To assist us in providing

information about our school to new and returning Kinder families, there will be a Zoom session
