Message from the Principal

Dear parents and carers, Welcome to all our new families to Bardia Public School this term. We will be running some school tours during Week 10 to allow you to come inside and look around at our terrific school. The dates and times for these tours will be advertised on School Stream. Please note that we meet at the cola gates for these tours and parents must use the QR code to sign in. Education Week will run from 26 to 30 July celebrating the theme ‘Lifelong Learners’. Continuous learning is critical for success throughout life and everyone can be a lifelong learner. This is a belief held strongly here at Bardia. We are investigating ways to involve parents during Education Week (in a COVID safe way) to showcase the lifelong learning taking place. More information about Education Week will be on School Stream in the coming weeks. Please note that payment is now immediately due for the Year 2 excursion on Friday and the Primary Athletics Carnival next Tuesday. Students will not be able to attend without a signed permission slip and payment.

A correct school uniform is a great way to have our students take pride in their school and themselves! Without you, the parents and carers, making sure your child comes to school every day in the correct school uniform, very quickly our excellent standards of uniform would disappear. THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Healthy Harold and the Life Education van have been at the school for the past few weeks. Each class had the opportunity to visit the van to learn about making healthy and safe lifestyle choices. The students were treated to a special appearance by Harold last Tuesday. The students were very excited to see Harold walking around the playground and on the slide.

Debating News

On Monday 26th May, Bardia Public School kicked off the debating season with a debate against each other! This year we have entered two teams in the Premier’s Debating Challenge. For this debate we had Ketki, Shavonne, Jordan and Rohan debating for team Bardia Blue and Charlie, Adriana, Isla and Shuve debating for team Bardia Gold. Out of the eight debaters, seven were first timers! Both teams were fantastic, showing great general knowledge and some very clever rebuttals. In the end, Bardia Gold were declared the winners, but both teams put in a solid effort. Well done to both teams! Siobhan Necic Debating Coordinator.
