By car: The M54 links Shropshire to the M6, where the toll road bypasses the notorious congestion around Birmingham. The A49, A41 and A5 truck roads also serve the county.

By rail: Wrexham & Shropshire offers a direct service from London Marylebone to Shropshire, including many Business to Business packages, and first or standard class carriages. Shropshire also connects to the mainline intercity UK network.

By air: Two of the UK’s biggest airports, Manchester and Birmingham, are within easy reach from the county. Between them, they are served by nearly 50 different national and international airlines.

By bus: Executive coach services are offered by local firms such as Elcock Reisen, while an excellent bus service serves all the major towns, operated by Arriva. The Shropshire Hills Shuttle takes visitors through some of the most breathtaking scenery in the land.

Blists Hill Victorian Town offers exciting and unusual possibilities for the Event Organiser in an authentically reconstructed late Victorian, working town.

RAF Museum Cosford The Royal Air Force Museum provides a truly unique location for important business events. The auditorium offers a flexible space for hosting a wide range of exhibitions, conferences, events and performances. It is fully equipped with the latest technology including PA, lighting rig, flat floor matrix and tiered seating system. The space has sprung beech flooring, a raised stage with disabled access, ample wing space and use of four dressing rooms, shower, WC and green room. With the financial assistance of Advantage West Midlands and Harper Adams, the building was constructed as a Brownfield conversion of a 1901 redundant farm building. The academy was regional winner in the ‘Regeneration’ category and was awarded ‘Project of the Year’ for the West Midlands in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards.

Officially opened on 1 December 2009 by HRH The Princess Royal, the building has been designed to serve a variety of functions. The food grade lecture theatre and exhibition hall provide both teaching and conference facilities. The lecture theatre is equipped with a cinema standard projection and audio system as well as the facility to provide cookery demonstrations, etc.

The exhibition hall has a load-bearing floor, access and services to allow the installation of demonstration equipment e.g. food packaging equipment. Additionally, the building has three seminar rooms equipped with interactive whiteboard and projection systems, with Internet access.

The food technology section of the building accommodates a range of food processing facilities used to support regional food businesses as well as to teach food technology.

The Business Development Centre is just half a mile from the centre of Telford. It can be accessed from junctions 4 & 5 of the M54 and is within easy walking distance of Telford Central Train Station.

There are 8 purpose built conference and meeting rooms suitable for small groups as well as those comprising of more than 100 people.

AV equipment is included in the room hire price and rooms are charged by the hour. Full catering is available. Clients ordering refreshments that include a hot or cold buffet have use of the breakout areas as part of the package. Disabled access is provided throughout the facility.

Adventure Rope Course

The Adventure Rope Course is a freestanding 17 metre high tower with over a dozen exciting stand-alone team-based activities leading from it. There are enough activities to keep a group going for about a day and a half. As all of the activities are stand-alone, we can design the perfect day to complement the values and individuality or your organisation.

This fantastic world-class training and adventure facility based in the heart of Shropshire is a perfect accompaniment to any conference or as an unusual, inclusive and exhilarating team away day. We cater for teams of 6 to 150 and many of our activities are unique not only in the Midlands, but also in UK! All of our

Team Building and Activities – The Tandem Experience The Tandem Experience is a unique activity for Team-building, with previous clients including: Waitrose, The Environment Agency and Pitney Bowes.

Riding a tandem is used as the focus to concentrate your team’s energy, to build on relationships and to promote cooperation and trust.

We can run your event from our base in Ironbridge or we can bring the Tandem Experience to your chosen location. All that is required is a flat area approximately the size of 2 tennis courts.

Learning should be fun, once your team have familiarised themselves with the shared goal of riding a tandem (assisted by our experienced trainers), we use a variety of activities to help develop communication skills, building trust and confidence, even uncovering hidden strengths of participants.

Team members can experience piloting and co-piloting a tandem in equal measure while taking part in: steering and navigating exercises, Tandem limbo, egg & spoon race, moving water and other tandem team games finishing with a treasure hunt.

It takes two to tandem and riding a tandem is a microcosm of great team work.

Previous experience of riding a bicycle is preferable but inexperienced riders can be accommodated within a group and helped by our trainers and your own team. Cycle helmets are provided and a list of suitable clothing and footwear to be worn will be given prior to attending.

You can also raise your profile, interest and more money for charity by using our tandem hire and rider training facilities.
