    METHODOLOGY

2D laser profiling is suitable for drilling definition,as a practical tool. The recommended step by stepprocedure is:

Obtain real- free face data 2D -sections.

Drilling plan adaptation to the real freeface shape.

Mark the drilling pattern and adjust thefront row.

      Measure drilling pattern (burden/spacing).

Definition of loading of explosive and decks,if necessary. Stemming lengthdetermination.

As an addition to the data obtained in the quarry/

mine, it is possible to download the informationto specific software such as MAXAM´s –RIOBLASTallowing the analysis of borehole profiles in detail.

Relevant information to prepare blast report anddeeper blast design analysis are important benefitsas well.

Boretraking is a borehole deviation measurement service for quickly and accurately auditing andimproving drilling results. This service will prevent operational, environmental and safety issues, especially

in open pit mining, quarrying and civil works, likely due to incorrect setting of drill angles, boreholedeviation or wrong drilling depth. It is also useful in UG mining production blasts.

    APPLICATIONS

      Open pit

      Civil construction

    Underground

    Quarry

    BENEFITS

Safety and Environmental: Avoid air overpressureand flyrocks. With the combination of 3D laserprofiling, it is possible to identify any possible lackof rock in front row, due to drilling deviation.

Blast optimization: Blast plan definition usingactual borehole data. Drilled boreholes not alwaysmatch designed drilling plan. Boretraking serviceallows performing blast plan taking into accountborehole deviation, accomplishing correctiveactions.

Drilling audit: Reduces risk and improve drilling.

With Boretraking, any issue in drilling activity canbe easily detected and corrected

Electronic Shotfiring service is a specific shotfiring services using electronic system. As an addition ofstandard works during the blast, programing and firing of electronic detonators is performed by MAXAM

specialists, covering both safety requirements and improved capabilities that this system adds in terms ofenvironmental control, fragmentation improvements, etc.

    APPLICATIONS

      Open pit mining

      Civil works, OP and tunneling

    Underground mining

    Quarry

    BENEFITS

In the same way as standard shotfiring service, electronic shorfiring is based on personnelprofessionalism. Anyway, additional technicalfeatures provided by the system enhance mainfeatures.

SafetyAs a main partner in blasting activity, safety isreinforced:

Improved level of safety and security, thatprovides added confidence in the productand service.

Testing of each detonator, before, during andafter the blast. Zero misfires.

Easy to track, according to procedure andusing dedicated device.

Blast optimizationEconomic consequences of blasting activity arealso improved using electronic shotfiring and blastdesign services join together:

Adaptable timing to customer needs andrequirements, according to calculations orexperience

Modeling using RIOTRONIC SW software, asa calculation tool that allows to get better

    results.

EnvironmentSpecial attention to the environment usingelectronic shotfiring service:

    Noise reduction and control

Vibration control, by adaptation of MIC(maximum instantaneous charge) to distance

    and limit level.

    EQUIPMENT

Electronic shotfiring service provided by MAXAMis based on MAXAM´s electronic Initiation System, which is called ROTRONIC.

two systems are available at this stage, each of oneadaptable to specific uses and segment.

RIOTRONIC DT:This is the most sophisticated system. Mainfeatures are:

Up to 1500 detonations per blast, one Blastingmachine

Remote control system allowed both for UGand OP mininig

Line programing, especially useful in OPmining activity.

Mineral extraction activities can generate a significant environmental impact. MAXAM TAP’s EnvironmentalImpact Control Service helps mines and quarries set up a plan to monitor and control the environmental impactfrom drilling and blasting operations. In addition, MAXAM works with mines to modify drilling and blasting practices to reduce the emissions of NOx infumes, and reduce the amount of nitrogen leached into ground and surface water as a result of using explosives

    APPLICATIONS

      Open pit mining

      Civil Infrastructure

    Underground miningQuarries

    BENEFITS

      Reduce environmental impact.

Control and reduce blast fumes (CO, NOx, NH,H”S and other gases).

Control and reduce nitrate and ammonia inwater.

MAXAM technicians work with mine staff to set upa monitoring program for blast fumes and waterquality using the standard methodology shownbelow.

Fumes:Fumes are measured with field gas monitors andtracked. Emphasis is on tracking the amount ofNOx, CO, NH, and O. Optionally, CH, HS and othergases may also be tracked.

Water quality:Water quality upstream and downstream from themine are analyzed and tracked with portable kits, and samples can be sent to recognized labs fordetailed analysis

MAXAM technicians can further help the mine

    change drilling&

    BENEFITS

Visualization of the rock movement of the rock toobtain details and improve the following criteria:
