THE COMPLETE PACKAGE FOR
Hospitals have undergone a
dramatic transformation in the past
20 years. The development of less
intrusive medical techniques has
meant that patient recovery times
have been greatly reduced. As a
result, day surgery clinics are now a
feature of almost all hospitals.
The hospital environment too,
is now a less intrusive one. No
longer clinical and cold, patient
accommodation today is often of
hotel standard. Although there is a
greater reliance on hi-tech support
equipment, this is now designed to
blend into the surroundings, creating
a more relaxed environment for both
patients and medical staff.
The Medilec Range of hospital
equipment has been designed
to meet this growing demand for
hospital services and equipment
that are attractive and non-
intrusive. The range brings together
products and expertise from some
of the biggest names in medical
equipment around the world. It is
the fi rst time that such an extensive
range is available from a single
supplier.
Medilec offers a complete electrical
package for the hospital or medical
clinic, including:

MULTIPLE SERVICE PANELS
A range of fl exible options to suit your needs
The Medilec Range of multiple service panels is an attractive, convenient way of providing services such as power, data, nurse call, medical gas and climate control. A unique feature of these products is that they enable access to each individual service without interfering with any of the others.
The design of these panels is based on Clipsal 2000 Series electrical accessories, thereby providing the designer with an unrivalled selection of products.
Multiple Service Panels are available in the following confi gurations:
Moulded System
Flush Metal System
Flush Metal System (custom built)
Surface Mounting Trunking System
Unique Modular ConceptA unique benefi t of Medilec
Multiple Service Panels is their modular construction. Not only do the panels offer individual access to each service, but also the fl exibility to add or replace components when needed.
The modular design permits systems to be quickly installed and a high degree of customisation can be accomplished during construction. Services such as gas, electrical and nurse call systems are quickly connected, reducing installation times and maintenance times.
A further advantage of the modular design is that individual components may be removed in the future, as new modules are developed or for maintenance purposes. The whole panel is not rendered in- operative during these periods. The maintenance periods are dramatically reduced and the complete system panel is made operative in less time, ensuring the service is available for hospital patients when needed.

SURGICAL LIGHTING
Now available as part of the Medilec Range, the Prima™ Surgical Light from Hill-Rom offers colour-correct, shadow-free illumination to surgical areas with fi ngertip control.
The Prima Surgical Light has a 58cm diameter light head combination and a Master Control Handle that enables various light settings to be adjusted with ease. The handle also connects to a suspension system that enables lights to be positioned quickly and effortlessly. All controls can be made from within the sterile fi eld.
The streamlined design of the Prima Surgical Light not only looks good, but also reduces air fl ow around the lamps when they are moved, and prevents air-borne particles from being trapped.
Control Features Master Hand Control System
All master controls, including on/off, light intensity, pattern size and light positioning can be operated from inside the sterile fi eld via the custom-shaped, sterile handgrips on each light. Lights remain completely stable once positioned.
360° Rotation
Both suspension arms revolve 360°. The lights are positioned at different heights so that lights do not collide when rotated.
The vertical extension arms also rotate 360°. The vertical extension arms are custom sized to ceiling heights to ensure adequate head clearance.
Each light head also rotates a full 360°, offering maximum control over positioning for optimum lighting conditions.
Wall Controls All controls can also be operated
from outside the sterile fi eld using the wall mounted controller. The wall mounted controller offers the same precise controls as the handgrip on the lights themselves. The smooth, streamlined housing is easy to clean and includes a concealed compartment for storing spare bulbs.
Illumination Features Advanced Refl ector System
Computer designed to maximise light intensity, clarity and performance, the inner refl ective surface of each light features 2000 refl ector facets. These facets mean that a large part of the light source can be blocked before any shadow is cast.
Greater Depth of Field
The Prima Surgical Light has an extended depth of fi eld, which eliminates the need to refocus at any time during the procedure.
Colour Correction
To ensure colour clarity during a surgical procedure, the lamp output is optimised at 4300°K and delivers 135,000 Lux output.
Minimum Heat Output
A custom designed infra-red (IR) fi lter keeps emitted IR to a minimum, ensuring comfortable conditions even during long procedures.
Reserve Bulbs
Each of the lamps includes a reserve lamp fi tted as standard. Should the bulb in use fail, the other bulb will take over instantly, creating a seamless light source for the user.
Long-Life Bulbs
Each bulb used in the lamp will provide up to 1000 hours of uninterrupted light before it needs to be replaced.
Applications
The combination of compact 58cm light head and shadow reduction makes the surgical light suitable for a wide variety of procedures, including general surgery, micro surgery, ENT, OB/GYN, Delivery, Ophthalmic and Cosmetic Surgery.
