DATE: SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25TH
LOCATION: Belmont Stock Farm, 1268 Kirby Road, East Burke, VT (1.6 miles from Kingdom Trails).
DIRECTIONS: From East Burke, head up in the direction of the ski area, make a slight RIGHT onto
Mountain Road, then first RIGHT onto Kirby Road ( do not take Maple Lane). Proceed 1.4 miles.
Event parking is in a big field on the left hand side of the Kirby Road.
REGISTRATION/NUMBER PICKUP: $55 online @Bikereg.com or @Runreg.com til Friday 10/23 noon.
or at The Pub Outback in East Burke Village from 5:30 until 8:30 PM on Saturday 10/25. Or $65
onsite on event day runner’s registration/number pick-up opens at 7:00 AM, bikers
registration/number pick-up at 8:15. WE MUST CAP PARTICPATION AT 500 PEOPLE.

Mass start format, called to line 15 minutes in advance. For bikes, neutral starts for several hundred
meters of dirt road in Kirby. “Self–seeding” in rows according to perceived fitness level.
RAFFLE: An assortment of product schwag from our generous sponsors. Begins at 2:45PM.
“ENDURO”: Two self-service “Enduro” classifications will be generated over “Clodhopper” and ”
McGill’s Thrills” on Strava.com, for riders using smart phones or other GPS devices with Strava
activated during the event.
FEED ZONES: Water in cups or directly from a cooler and an assortment of simple foods ranging for
energy bars, bagels, VT made specialties, bananas, oranges and chips. If you require special food or
beverages, please bring them.
TOP OF CCC WATER STOP : Top of CCC climb at 2200 ft. elevation. Just water & a few bananas
LOG ROAD FEED: 300 meters up log road opposite 2871 Victory Hill Rd, (~mile 11.6 of route).
VICTORY HILL FEED: North end of Victory Hill orchard. (~ mile 14.2)
NORTH PASTURE FEED: @North Pasture trail at Burke/ Victory/ Gas Pipeline Jct (~ mile 20.7).
FINAL WATERSTOP: Pinkham Road crossing (~ mile 22)
COURSE MARKING/SIGNAGE: RED is the dominant marking color along
CircumBurke route. (Red diamonds with black arrows, blank red diamonds or
red wooden signs with white arrows) as well as white foam-board signs with red
or black arrows reading, “CircumBurke”, which will be employed at major turns.
Brush piles & tape are used to block intersections. Don’t jump these!
NEON ORANGE arrows signals bypass turns for Circumburke 20 runners & CircumBurke 22 bikers.
LUNCH: Warm lunch provided by MarketCafe upon presentation of your lunch ticket. Don’t lose it.
Additional ones can be purchased for family members.

TIMING: Our volunteers will provide basic “courtesy” timing. The unofficial gathered timing data and
finish orders will not be posted until the following day, instead of immediately after the event, due
uncertain electricity supply and internet connectivity at venue.
EMERGENCIES: Bike “sweepers” will follow the bike and trail running waves. If you have an emergency
or see an injured participant please call the following numbers and/or try to ask another participant to
notify someone at the nearest food/aid station or marshal the road crossings (in East Burke only).
HITCHING A RIDE BACK! If you experience mechanical, biomechanical or other difficulties, please
contact volunteers in any of the feedzones can help shuttle you back after the feedzone closes.

MANDATORY BYPASS SITUATIONS: Any rider or runner who has not passed the Second Bypass (B) in
Victory by 12:30 pm will be diverted to the 20-mile route. Similarly, anyone who appears to be at risk
will be diverted as well. Safety is our number one concern.

20 MILERS RUNNERS AND 22 MILE BIKERS use the main CircumBurke loop except for bypasses
(shortcuts) shortcuts. 20 Mile runner bypass directly from Kirby Connector to the CCC Road on Upper
J- Bar. FOLLOW THE NEON ORANGE ARROWS FOR BYPASSES.
22 MILE BIKERS will stick to the main CircumBurke route in Burke via Lower J-Bar, Shire, Camptown
etc.thus not use the initial runner’s shortcut (too steep).
In Victory, 22 mile bikers and 20 mile runners use the same bypasses: Lower Clodhopper, Log Road
Feedzone..FOLLOW THE NEON ORANGE ARROWS.
CIRCUMBURKE MTBERS who have signed up for the 26 mile, but are just too tired and want to do the
bypass in Victory can do so by letting the volunteers know. They will put a blue circle on your
number indicating to the timers and finish volunteers that you changed categories. If you switch
events, please also notify the volunteers working the finish area that you have switched, in case they
cannot see the marking. The bypass is in Victory after completing the Log Road feedzone and and
before entering “the field in Victory”.
RULES FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS: Safety first and use common sense!
PASSING ETIQUETTE: Warn before passing and be courteous. If you are being passed, do your best
to move aside.
LITTER: You will use State Forest and private land in a pristine corner of Vermont. Keep spent GU
packs in your pockets.
NO DOGS out of respect for landowners along the way.
DRIVE SLOW AND BE POLITE TO THE LOCALS WHEN COMMUTING TO EVENT: No fast rally
driving to and from the event. Favorable reception by the local community is essential for this event.
PREPARE FOR ADVERSITY: Cyclists bring a spare tube, pump or CO2 cartridge, chaintool and allen
keys! No in-situ mechanical support. Consider packing an extra base layer and a raincoat to avoid
hypothermia in case of mishap. Have a towel and blanket and sweatsuit in your car for afterwards.
PLEASE CROSS THE FINISH LINE when arriving back at the Farm to let us know that you’ve returned
safely and we don’t need to send out a search party. Don’t shortcut to your cars.
