Marilyn Hunt Mixed Media 3D Modern Paintings Marilyn Hunt, "mariola" Art is my escape, my solace, my friend. When I paint, the world around does not exist, it is just me and the canvas, the paint becomes the language of my soul. I get myself out of the way and let creativity take over guided only by emotions and curiosity but without expectations. The inspiration always comes from everyday life, from problems and solutions, from news stories and social issues. The eye in each work represents the ever "watching" pop culture which is America today and becoming an interactive experience. The words are an expression of mood and a reflection of my surroundings, the color is a guide to the story in the painting. I sign each work with my childhood name "mariola".. Carl Jr Ekta Kharanda Mixed Media/ Charcoal/ Water Ekta's emotional and creative identity came into existance watching the different peoples come together, an arrangement of parts into a whole; unification. Most of her work depicts the female form; more than its beauty, the strong colours depict the juxtaposition between the strength and sensitivity of everything feminine. Andrea Kostyal Painting Andrea Kostyal paints expressive colorful abstract forms along the lines of her interest and expertise in textiles. Richard Lisle Oil Painting Rich Lodato Painting Oil on Linen JD Logan Contemporary Folk Art JD Logan paints landscapes in a primitive folk art style. Captivated by the beauty of the surrounding hills and towns of his home in Western Massachusetts, he creates art that celebrates the best that life in New England has to offer. Simplicity, balance, serenity and calm. These are the artistic aspirations of this self taught artist who never picked up a paintbrush before 1998. Rolling hills, barns, churches and autumn leaves carry the viewer back to a time when life was simpler. His originals and signed prints are collected by folk art enthusiasts around the world. www.jdlogan.com John Marin Abstract Paintings Nina Marvalant Traditional / Representational Oils Nina Marvalant was born in a small town in West Texas. Nina spent many an hour looking at home and garden magazines, longing for a home other than motor inns and trailer houses. After many years in advertising and magazine work (at home and garden magazines), Nina sought out painters that could teach her traditional oil painting techniques. She relied upon her many years of daydreaming about the perfect space to inspire the small interiors that she painted. Then, she started putting people in the rooms - people with stories to tell... Sula Naqeeb Painting - Oils Carole Natolitano Acrylic / Pen and Ink I am a native to the Pittsburgh area and work as an Online News Editor for a local newspaper. My greatest passion is art and with no formal training, I discovered my love for painting and pen and ink drawing. I have been an artist for many years, but it wasn't until a few years ago when I when I found my niche for these two mediums. My pen and ink designs capture the amazing artistic contrast between light and dark through photography. I've done many portraits of children, families, celebrities as well as great works of architechture. My acrylic painting is quite the opposite, focusing on the vivid, radiant colors found in everyday life that we sometimes tend to miss. Although I use my love for art as a successful side business, I hope to eventually open my own studio and pursue art full time. Brenda O'Connor Paintings I am a Canadian born artist who has showcased my work at a number of Toronto and Montreal venues including The Gladstone Hotel, The LOFT, WhipperSnapper Gallery, and Relish Studios. The New York International Art Festival is my first showing outside of Canada. My work can be classified as Modernistic Portraiture. I work with acrylics & oil paint pastels on canvas and my stylistic objective is to produce realistic likenesses of my subjects, but incorporate surrealistic coloring and abstract themes to add drama. Osamede Obazee Metal Sculpture Born in Nigeria in 1965, Osamede Obazee distinguished himself from others with his unique style of sculpting with sheet metal and wrought iron. He recently completed his Masters degree in Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Benin. Osamede Obazee’s sculptural pieces are in many major private collections throughout Africa and Europe. This Nigerian sculptor is one of today’s leading proponents of contemporary African sculpture. His majestic, large-scale pieces created from recycled scrap and wrought irons are a fusion of his tribal (Benin Edo) roots with classical and modern art. His works epitomizes symmetry, balance and recognizable forms that reflect the aesthetic of his traditional roots. Whether rendered in a realistic or abstract style using welded metal, all his work focuses on the three-dimensional figures of the ancient Benin Kingdom. His sculptures are filled with intricate detail and expressive fluidity, which reflect their rich cultural symbolism and Obazee’s mastery of his medium. Natalie Omrami Painting and Prints (Surreal) Natalie Omrami is a contemporary artist originally from North Miami, Florida. Her main concentration is printmaking and painting. Her influences include Picasso, Matisse, Dali, Escher, and Magritte. Music has been a huge inspiration as well. Natalie has earned her Associates Degree in Fine Arts and is now working on receiving her Bachelor's degree. Jigar Patel Oil Painting My name is Jigar Patel and I am an artist of adaptable styles with a unique conceptual and visual ability. Currently I am a student double majoring in busines and visual arts, looking to expand my knowledge and experience in a working enviroment. I am a versatile artist and try to stay aware of broad subject matters. For the Art Festival, I am featuring several oil paintings which all have their own indivdual presence and visually experss my growing talent and creativity. I am also interested in using this event to learn about certain industries as well as help me with future job oppourtunities as I close in on my college career. Barbara Pellegrino Abstract Barb Pellegrino has been in the photography, graphic arts and fine arts arena for over 10 years. Over that time she has taken her love for art to new levels in both her coorporate life and her fine art career. With her true love being abstract, she incoorporates and presents fresh, uncomplicated visual pieces that celebrate life. The energy that is brought forth with each abstract pieces is a personal and private emotional escape that is created by each viewer. Her paintings express a simple balance to life with a beautiful composition of shapes and colors. She takes an unparalleled approach to each piece and sways to the beat of her own brush, opening up and giving her art an unpretentious touch that is timeless and original. Sonia Penaranda - Taggart Figurative - Oil Painting on Canvas Sonia Peñaranda-Taggart is an American, Colombian-born artist specializing in Abstract-Figurative art. Sonia’s distinctive use of color and shape give her works a unique quality. She uses the representation of feelings and emotions, alluding to the intimate intricacy of our daily relationships. Sonia set her heart on being an artist at the age of five when she began taking painting classes. She has studied oil, acrylics, fabric, wood and porcelain techniques throughout her career; however her area of expertise is in creating oil paintings on canvas. Sonia completed her B.S. in Architecture and practiced with prominent firms in New Haven, Connecticut, Atlanta, Georgia, and Boston, Massachusetts before returning to her true passion – art. Sonia has participated in numerous art exhibitions and competitions in the United States and Colombia. Leonardo Pereznieto Sculpture Leonardo Pereznieto from his early years began an interesting international career. Born in México City in 1969 had his first art exhibition at the Goya gallery at the age of eight. Since then he has shown his work in prominent galleries of Paris, Florence, London, Montecarlo, Los Angeles and Mexico among others. His sculptures have become part of private and corporate collections in several countries. Awarded with the Mozart Prize for the Arts, he, with writer Claudia Moscovici, is co-founder of the cultural movement of postromanticism. Leonardo has given talks about his art all over the world, including at the Celebrity Center Florence and the University of Michigan. www.leonardopereznieto.com www.postromanticism.com Chuck Perry Mark Poppe Surrealism My name is Mark Poppe, and I have been painting surrealistic landscapes since 1971. My mediums usually include oils and acrylics on canvas. However, for the past 20 years I have been using strictly acrylics. Inspirations such as nature, music and family (mainly my kids) have led me down this path of creativity. I am a self - taught artist, so I have learned by my own hands and mind, which have carried me to the "places" in which I paint today. I believe that creativity in any sense is a very important aspect of life. Life's a journey.......Enjoy the ride!! Alejandro Riera Photography Daniel Rigsbee Abstract - Oil / Acrylic / Paper Daniel Riggsbee has been a creative person his entire life. Starting with a few small canvases and an easel he discovered, as an adult, that painting was the perfect vehicle to express his creativity. The freedom of this medium allowed him to push the limits of his own style and create a wide assortment of works that reflected his personality. Evolving from Abstract Expressionism and applying unconventional methods and techniques, he has gone to develop a style uniquely his own. This ensures that each new painting is truly a personal reflection of the artist. Jens Schnabel Surreal Symbolism I was born in Inglewood, Ca, in 1969. 8 months old my family moved back to Germany, where I grew up and studied abstract and fine art.In 1994 I decided to come back to the US , where I began working for the Warner Bros. Scenic Art Department (working on movies like Spiderman, Batman, Charlie's Angels, A Series of Unfortunate Events just to name a few). It always has been my desire to persue my personal work which I finally started doing after 10 years of work for the Studios. It is the old school of art which requires control of colors, values, harmony and shapes in any way and direction, which always fascinated me. There is no "good" work without fundamental knowledge and skill -nobody can build a solid wall without cement or even water to mix the cement, same in painting. I hope my work reflects that a little bit. Ran Webber Geometric Figurative Painting / Casein on Paper Ran Webber has been painting and exhibiting for 50 years throughout the WNY Area. “I design my geometric figurative images and then paint them with casein (fresco) paint on heavy paper. I take them along on my kayak adventures where I float them in the water beside me. They become saturated, dissolved, torn, weathered and finally crumpled and drained. Back in the studio they are flattened, creased, dried, patched up and reinvented with love and more paint."
