Official Team Manual Updates(REMINDERS)
Breaking the 23-Rule (or any Skill Level Limit Rules) WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF ALL POINTS, not 1 match!
Breaking the Senior Skill Level Limit (only 2 per 9-Ball team match) will result in LOSS OF POINTS earned by 3rd Senior Player (SL 6-9)
Starting Skill Level for ALL NEW players (not gender-specific) will be SKILL LEVEL 3 effective 12/01/2018
Time Outs now the same as higher-level Tournaments
– Time-out will be charged if any member of the team suggests a coach
– If shooter requests help, the coach may refuse it with no time-out charged
Local Bylaw Reminder(DOUBLE POSTING)
When teams do not have 5 players present, OPPOSING TEAM that has all players SELECTS WHO WILL PLAY TWICE
Must abide by 23-Rule (or any Skill Level Limit Rules)
– Cannot select a player that will make team go over 23
– Printed roster must still show that the team can post to 23 or under, regardless of players who are presentFor example, if a team has played 4 players to 20 (combined SL), then they must have a 3 or 2 or 1 on the roster. You may select a 3 who has played, even if they don’t have another 3, as long as they have a 2 or 1 on the roster who is absent.
HOME BY 11(Time-Saving Tips)
If 2nd table is not available, THESE TIPS WILL HELP! Time Saved
BE READY to play when your match is called (bathroom, smoke, cue, practice BEFORE)
15 minutes
Follow 2-MINUTE time guidelines when POSTING players. Team should already have player posted and counter-posting team should have strategy in mind.
20 minutes
Pay attention while you’re playing your match, & get to table right away when it’s your turn (save 10 seconds). With a 20-inning match, that’s 40 times to table or 6 minutes per match.
30 minutes
Follow 20-SECONDS time guideline PER SHOT. If averaging 5 seconds longer, each match lasts at least 9 minutes longer.
45 minutes
Limit TIME-OUTS to a 1-MINUTE maximum. 40 minutes
TOTAL TIME SAVED 2 ½ HOURS!
SPLIT TABLES (must use 2nd table if not in 4th
match by league start plus 2 hours, if available, unless both teams agree not to split)
Teams must post players for the next match once the current match being played reaches one of these points in time:– In 8-Ball, when one player gets on the hill (needs only one more game in
the race)
– In 9-Ball, when one needs only one rack (needs 10 more points)
One-minute sand timers will be given to each team to use during time-outs and coaching. (These are not required, however, we encourage you to use them.)
20-seconds per shot is the average for regular shots (45 for special shooting situations), and sand timers may be provided at the World Qualifier. We encourage players to use stopwatches on their phones to monitor the speed of their players and identify slow play.
Local Bylaw Reminder(TIME SAVERS)
Local Bylaw Updates
Playoff Structure Change for 4-7 Team Divisions– EXCEPTION: a 4-5 team division playoffs will consist
of one week, 1st place team vs. Wild Card and winner will advance (This is because you cannot have all or just about all teams qualifying to play in playoffs to go to the World Qualifier, where is the incentive if everyone gets to go?)
– 4-team Division 1st Place high points finisher will advance to Last Chance WQ Play-In (not directly to WQ)
