If the castaways of the S.S. Minnow only had a little cardboard and creativity, their stay on that island may not have been the same. You and your team will design and build a one-person-powered, corrugated cardboard boat that is capable of racing the designated course. Maybe you like a canoe, a speedboat or perhaps a paddleboat. The design is up to you and, with a great imagination, the sky is the limit. After you build, decorate and name your boat, you will designate a Skipper, introduce your creation to the other teams, and perform a team cheer. That’s right, no good vessel was ever sent to sea without fanfare!

roPes coUrse

Our ropes course can be seen as the ultimate team challenge. When groups compete on a ropes course they have a great opportunity to learn about risk taking, perceived limits, performing under pressure, getting and receiving support from other people, and how working in collaboration can help individuals achieve more than they ever thought possible!

BoNes…caN YoU Dig it?

This activity is sure to chill you to the bone. Search for the missing skeleton of Black Beard, The Pirate, on our Crescent Beach. After you have uncovered all the buried pieces, it’s a race to the finish to see who can put Black Beard together again. “ARRR, Me Mate! Dig If Ye Dare!”

isLaNDs iN the streaM

Join us as we escort you to your own private island. But wait! The island’s volcano has just erupted, and now you must get everyone in your tribe over to the neighboring island. You are given two boards. Be careful: the sharks and crocodiles in the surrounding waters haven’t eaten in weeks. If the boards hit the ground, the people get eaten and you start from the beginning.

traVeL Log

Your team is part of the Smithsonian Exploration Team and has come across one of the most prized artifacts of the century. King Tut’s Scepter! But there’s a problem. Human contact with the pharaoh’s scepter causes it to crumble into fine dust. You and your team must use your special tools to transfer the scepter from the bottom of the pyramids to the service above. Caution: obstacles and booby traps are sure to be encountered along the way.

sPiDer WeB

You and your team are trapped in a cave. On one side of you is a giant spider; on the other side is his acid web. What do you do? To escape you must pass through the holes of the web. Careful though! The web is made of acid — if you touch it on your way through, it destroys you and the spider gets your team. At that point, everyone starts again. One more hitch, once you pass through a hole it closes and can’t be used again. What a dangerous web we weave…

fisherMaN’s taNgLe

Your team has set out on a fishing adventure. At one point, every team member has got a fish on his or her line. As time passes and the fight intensifies, all the lines on the boat have become tangled and, to top it off, all the fish got off. It is your team’s job to untangle the lines. It’s trickier than you think: each member may not let go of his or her rod at any time. Good luck!

sPrUNg a LeaK?

Each team is given a bucket of water, a beaker and a piece of PVC pipe with holes drilled in it. The object is to transfer the water from the bucket to the beaker using the pipe. Each team member may only touch the pipe with one hand to help stop the leaks. The team that fills the beaker first wins. This calls for everyone to work together!

teaM traNsfer

Each team must move objects from one place to another. Sound simple? There’s a catch: you must move them with our transfer platforms, some rope, and a lot of clever teamwork.

egg DroP coMPetitioN

Each team is given one egg, twenty straws, twenty inches of tape, and two balloons. You must construct a device that will surround the egg so that when it is dropped from eight feet the egg will not break. Are you up for this eggs-acting task?

eLectric griD

Power to the County is down. Your job is to restore connections without crossing wires or touching the grid. If you do, its barbecue time; yikes!

greY Matter MaDNess

Test your brainpower with a series of group challenges. You’ll face strategy and planning games as well as mazes, puzzles and other problem solving riddles.

PiNK PaNther JeWeL heist

Your goal is to steal the priceless Pink Panther jewel while avoiding lasers, pressure sensitive floor alarms and other traps. Don’t let Inspector Clouseau catch you!

VegetaBLe race cars

VROOM, VROOM… “Start your engines!” Teams are provided with a variety of fresh produce and the necessary supplies to construct a four-wheel racing vehicle. Teams will be given a set amount of time in which to build a veggie vehicle that is fast enough and sturdy enough to race on our Hyatt Speedway, better known as “Thunder Road!”

Here, using just their mouths, they bury their faces deep into a pie tin filled with whipped cream to retrieve a single strawberry. Next they run to the second station where they put on a uniform.
