Taltson Hydroelectricity Expansion Project

The Taltson Hydro Expansion is the foundation for a green energy corridor that will transition the North's resource economy from relying on diesel-generated electricity to clean hydroelectricity. Initially, Taltson will connect our islanded hydrosystems and will eventually connect the North to the rest of Canada.

Progress on the proposed Thaidene Nëné National Park Reserve has necessitated a review of higher cost transmission routing options across Great Slave Lake.

Next steps include working with northern industry and investigating emerging technologies that could improve the cost effectiveness of crossing Great Slave Lake with a transmission line.
