How does Talbert House work?

•Talbert House helps children, adults, and families in the areas of community corrections, mental health, substance abuse, and welfare to work•Serves not only Cincinnati but the NKY area, such as Bellevue residents•Depends on private funding and donations•Talbert house is constantly using new research to provide the best care for the public

Why Help?•As was made apparent through the presentations presented by Bellevue students, drug abuse is a problem that touches many lives•Addiction is complicated— counseling can help some into recovery while others benefit from other programs, such as job placement•Talbert House takes a multi prong approach to address addiction that includes:• Counseling services• Job placement•Help for those facing criminal charges as a result of their drug abuse

•Community care is offered through Talbert House• Steady employment or enrolling in college has been helpful for many in breaking the chains of addiction

• Jail is not the only solution!• Treating addiction with jail time has made little headway in stopping the prevalence of drug abuse in our society

• Jail affects not only that person, but the whole family which often includes young children

•Programs are offered to those involved in the court system such as halfway houses and educational opportunities to influence addicts into recovery•Youth services are provided such as counseling and prevention programs to help stop the cycle of drug abuse• With these programs in mind, the Talbert House would address problems presented by the students of Bellevue
