PURPLE HEART PROJECTThe Purple Heart Project is an effort to raise awareness about how many members of the community are affected by domestic violence. If you would like to honor someone affected by domestic violence, purple hearts will be available to write their name on and wear as a symbol of their courage.
WALK OR RUN WITH YOUR FOUR LEGGED FRIEND All funds raised through this additional $10 registration fee will go towards providing assistance to pets of survivors of domestic violence who reside in our shelters. Dogs must be on leash.
Our mission is to stop domestic violence abuse for everyone through intervention, education and advocacy.
SAFEWALK-RUN 5K, now in its 18th year, has raised over $1,000,000 towards helping survivors of domestic violence.
In the United States, 1 in 4 women will be a victim of domestic violence in her lifetime. By supporting Women In Distress’ SAFEWALK-RUN 5K, you become an important part of a community effort to help families impacted by domestic violence.
