MEAL PREPARATION , ASSEMBLY AND DELIVERY
We haven’t actually seen many of you since March 14th, and it has occurred to us that
it may be somewhat of a mystery as to how those bags with meals in them get to your
door every day. The following is a brief summary:
1. Your orders are collected throughout the day, either by phone or order form, and
charged prior to the meals being assembled.
2. All meal preparation is done in batch-style, rather than à la carte (to order). Salads,
fruits and desserts are portioned and placed in containers during the day.
3. Our back-of-the-house team assembles your entrées and sides and places them in to-
go containers shortly before delivery time.
4. Our servers add the soups, salads, etc. to your order, place them in bags and staple
your receipts to the bags in assembly-line fashion.
5. Meals then go on carts by building and floor, and our servers distribute them as
quickly as possible.
We are aware that this process has by necessity reduced the amount of choices to which
you are accustomed, and that a meal delivered anonymously n a bag outside your door
is not the same as a meal served on a plate with a smile.
We wish to express our appreciation to all members of the community for bearing with
us during the current situation, and look forward to seeing each and every one of you
back in our dining venues when circumstances allow.

Nutrition Tip of the Month
.WHERE DO SUPPLEMENTS FIT IN? Food is the best source of the nu-trients you need for a healthy body. Ask your doctor about whether you need vitamin pills and herbal supplements. Some interfere with medi-cines or adversely affect some medical conditions.
Provided by the Health and Wellness PAC Nutrition Subcommittee.
DINING POINT DONATIONS
Since we introduced our program allowing residents to donate unused
dining points for dining associates, AMV residents have been extremely
generous in supporting our team members.
Beginning in April, and through August 20, 2020, residents have con-
tributed a total of $57,335.65 for us to purchase meals for our employ-
ees.
Over the past few months, meals have been purchased from Buffalo
Wild Wings, Chick fil-A, Chipotle, Domino’s Pizza, Doña Bessy, Five
Guys, Ixtapalapa, Jersey Mike’s, Jimmy John’s, La Casita, Manhattan
Pizza, Papa John’s, Popeye’s, Quickway Hibachi, Roy Rogers, Sardi’s,
Smoothie King and Wingstop, to name a few.
The AMV Dining Team is extremely grateful to each and every resident
who made the effort to contribute since April, and wish to express our
sincere appreciation during this challenging period for everyone.

Mr. John Del Vecchio—Copy Editor
We have been remiss in expressing our gratitude and appreciation for
the constant time and effort expended by Mr. John Del Vecchio in copy-
editing Table Talk month-after-month, year-after-year for so long we
have forgotten when he began.
He has improved the quality of Table Talk immensely by catching er-
rors such as the one pictured above, as well as many others that should
have been obvious to us (such as having the correct month/year on the
front page) but weren’t. The Table Talk that you receive every month
would have many glaring errors were it not for his dedikation to
spottting them. Grazie!
Guidance for Residents
SARA Pendant
Always wear your SARA pendant. In an emergency, press and hold the SARA pendant
button for 3 seconds. Stay where you are; the AMV Security team will be dispatched to
your location.
Test your SARA pendant. Call the gatehouse, and tell the operator that you would like
to test your pendant. It only takes a few minutes.
SARA batteries: Concierges call residents whose pendant batteries are low, and will
change those batteries. If you receive a call about your pendant battery, it is important
that you see a Concierge promptly to have the battery changed. Status Solutions, the com-
pany managing the SARA system, provides the low battery list weekly.
