World Day of Prayer for Vocaons In the U.S. and Canada there are more than 5200 parishes without priests! Increasingly, priests are serving two, three or even more parishes. Today,” WORLD DAY OF PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS”, 1.3 billion Catholics in 196 countries are all asked to pray for the same thing: “Lord, send us more priests, sisters, and brothers!” Every year since 1963, the Holy Father has set aside the Fourth Sunday of Easter -- chosen because scripture readings are about the Good Shepherd—as a special day of intercession for vocaons. What’s your role today? To pray—really pray! Ask God, from the heart, to call young people from our parish, from your family. Perhaps even to call you. Here are just a few ways to pray for vocaons: Offer your Mass intenons for a specific young man or woman Pray a rosary for your children and grandchildren to hear God’s call Pledge to pray daily for vocaons Jesus promised, “If you ask anything of Me in my name, I will do it” (Jn 14:13). If Our Lord will grant the prayers of a single person, what if we all ask for the same thing? If you feel you might have a vocaon, call Father Jarek at 407-647-3392 regarding the priesthood or Sister Kathleen at 407-246-4800 regarding the religious life?

Learn More about Human Trafficking Monday, April 25; 7:00-8:30 pm in the Bethany & Cana Rooms

This mely presentaon on Human Trafficking is designed for

adults, especially parents and grandparents. Human trafficking

has become pervasive in Florida in the past decade. This

presentaon will focus on the children and youth and young

adults from the US and other countries who are trafficked for

sexual exploitaon. You will be provided with informaon to

increase awareness of possible vicms as well as to contact

informaon for agencies who can further assess the situaon

Coalion of Immokalee Workers News! Just before Easter, the Coalion of Immokalee Workers, Whole

Foods Market, and Sunripe Cerfied Brands announced their

landmark expansion of the Fair Food Program

into the strawberry industry and onto the

shelves of select Whole Foods produce

aisles. This season marks the first expansion of

the Fair Food Program into a new crop — now,

in addion to tens of thousands of

farmworkers in the tomato industry on the

East Coast, workers in the strawberry fields of Sunripe Cerfied

Brands (which you may recognize by its former name, Pacific

Tomato Growers, a grower with a long history of support for the

Fair Food Program) are working under the just and dignified

condions that the Fair Food Program ensures. And soon, the

strawberries they pick, affixed with the Fair Food label, will be

filling grocery carts in Whole Foods around the country. This is

truly a moment for celebraon as strawberry workers in Florida

taste the jusce for which they have long struggled, and

thousands more consumers gain the opportunity to learn about

the Fair Food Program on their trip through the produce aisle.
