Pennsylvania’s vast state forest system comprises 2.2 million acres for you to use, enjoy and explore. The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Forestry manages these forests to ensure their long-term health and to conserve native wild plants. Michaux State Forest comprises 86,000 acres in Franklin, Adams and Cumberland counties. The Michaux ATV Trail located in Adams and Cumberland Counties consists of 36 miles of summer trail. During the winter season the trail system is expanded to 42 miles by using some dirt roads that are gated during the winter. The trail is located between Big Flat and Pine Grove Furnace State Park.
