Environmental and social context

•  Spring  area  :    –  Hydrogeologically  protected  by  a  thick  layer  of  clay,  artesian  spring…    

–  Anthropogenic  and  urbanizaJon  risks  (excavaJon,  drilling,  building,  …)  regulated  through  a  Water  protecJon  law  since  1926.  

•  Catchment  area  :  –     A  natural  landscape  composed  by  50%  of  meadows,  20%  of  forest  ,  10%  of  wetland,  6%  culJvaJon,  and  4%  villages.    

–  The  main  acJvity  is  farming  based  on  “AOC”  high-­‐quality  cheese  producJon.  

•  evian  Company  :  Founded  more  than  100  years,  providing  employment  directly  for  1000  workers,  and  indirectly  2000  jobs,  main  incomes  for  villages  of  Spring  Area.

•  We  deploy  a  similar  and  adapted  model  to  other  countries,  in  order  to  manage  physical,  environmental  and  social  risks  by  embarking  community,  authoriJes  …  in  Indonesia,  China,  ArgenJna….    

•   Then  becoming  an  opportunity  to  sustain  water  resources  and  regional  ecosystems.
