Placement Activity: Procedure and Guidelines

1. The placement activity of SIG begins with effect from the first week of June every year.

2. On arrival of students in early June from there two months summer Projects, they are given a calendar for the placements activity. It follows the following pattern :

Committees are nominated for tasks related to placement activity.

Database

Brochure

Travel

3. Preparation of material, curriculum vitae, student profiles, photographs and so on for the placement brochure to be completed by 1st week of Aug.

4. The calling team will establish contact with corporate and alumni. Weekly calling reports are prepared and deliberated.

5. Draft brochure to be prepared for approval layout and material by end July.

6. Preparation of USB with brochure completed by 1st week of August. Simultaneously database is updated with telephonic contact with alumni, industry, corporate. The placement brochure with student profiles are emailed where ever it is requested.

7. The visiting team will finalize the briefing and presentation to be delivered to corporate

during the visit.

8. Appointment are confirmed for the visit of SIG teams to various companies. The team will finalize travel plans.

9. Team leave for various stations. The travel will be between 16th to 24th of September.

10. Upon return detailed report of the visit is submitted. Based on the response further course of action will be charted.

11. The interview dates for the companies participating in placements are finalized.

12. The Placement Activity will continue throughout the semester.

13. Those who appear for interview and are selected are required to give their consent and

thereafter are not permitted to appear in the interview that follows.

14. We can assist the visiting team, for pick up from airport / railway station. Infrastructure for company pre-placement presentations, briefing of students etc exists. Assistance for conduct of written test, GD & PI as desired by the visiting representatives of companies is also provided to them. In case of telephonic interviews, conference facility is also available.

15. Students are required to be at their best behavior, properly groomed and in Institute issued UNIFORM without exception.

16. Eligibilty criteria: Only those students who are eligible for 3rd semester examination are eligible for participating in placement activity.
