WHAT WENT WELL..• Throughout the blog, we used many different formats of media, making

our blog very media rich, which is attractive to the eye and has fun aspects for people to use. This was also easily accessible, there were no complications and it met the requirements of the mark scheme.

• I also believe that the amount of work we put into each post, and the quality of it really showed how determined we were as a group to produce a great project. It also shone our knowledge of the task we were doing, and shows a genuine interest.

• I believe that the final product (thriller video) was a success, we stuck to the advice and mark scheme given, and we interpreted many different angles, shots, editing techniques. We, as a group made sure that it fit the codes and conventions of a thriller genre.

WHAT WENT WELL..• As a group, we were also very organised with the

tasks we had to complete, we were very much aware of the deadline, so we came together as a group almost everyday and assigned tasks (left). We stuck to this, which we believe was part of the success of our blog.

• Another faviroute part of a blog as a group is the development of the posters, we got advice from peers and our teachers, and we are genuinely proud of our final poster, we believe it represents a small part of our journey to the final finished product.

• As a group we feel that our filming skills worked really well, obviously we had to do many re-shoots. We planned these reshoots very well, we had set days and times for when we was going to them and had to take into account the weather and time of day, otherwise we would encounter a lack of continuity in our final video. We recorded these reshoots in a behind the scene style, to make the viewer of our blog really feel our journey and our feelings towards having to reshoot. Our whole group worked well and understood these circumstances, therefore led to the group being able to get these extra bits of filming turned around quickly without any problems.

This screenshot shows the organisation of our blog. It shows the end of the blog, the order is placed correctly and the names of the right people were placed on the correct blog posts, this enabled us to keep on top of what we had done and what else was needed to do.

WHAT WENT WELL..• Post Production During the post production of our thriller we efficiently cut out the unnecessary footage and came up with a clear and simple rough cut. With this rough cut we got together an audience which gave us the key information on the changes that we needed to make for our final cut. This overall process worked especially well as our use of organisation and communication enabled us to understand the improvements that had to be made. Through these improvements we were able to produce a successful final cut which was highly favoured amongst our audience against others thrillers. Our final piece is undoubtedly the best example of the best in which we had learnt throughout the overall experience of making a thriller.

WHAT COULD’VE WE IMPROVED…• Timing and getting off from the start quicklyAt the start of the process our severe lack of understanding lead to a slow start as we had to go through mountains of research before we could set off on even preparing for our thriller. However now that we understand the process of which we must undertake, we have a better footing and are able to progress much quicker than we did the previous year. This in turn allows us to head into filming much quicker and also to spend more time on gaining footage and expanding our choice of angles and shots in post production. It is key that we are able to save time at the start because it allows us to go back, check, and make changes where appropriately. It also allows us to spend more time on auxiliary tasks which will be key for our music video blog and our overall grade.

WHAT COULD’VE WE IMPROVED…

• Productivity At certain points throughout last year our group productivity rate came to a halt. This was either down to a lack of knowledge of our task or it was due to the fact that we need for the completion of one thing to proceed on to the next. This meant that a lot of days for example we were waiting for our day to film, we had finished all pre-production posts and needed to start filming to proceed. This did however allowed us to create a firm plan of filming e.g. Shots, angles, ect. As a group we have learnt to spread our posts evenly and to plan a more realistic date for things like filming, and so far we have successfully achieved this.

WHAT COULD’VE WE IMPROVED…

• Extra postsLast year we had a severe lack of creative and relatable, but not required, posts for our blog. This meant that in certain topics we had a lower amount of posts which gave an uneven spread of attention for key areas. Through detailed research into previous blogs and examiners reports we have been able to look at potential posts for the future. This will allow us to easily reach the post count and enable us to reach the best possible grade for our blog.
