SQAS (SAFETY AND QUALITY ASSESSMENT SYSTEM)
SQAS (Safety and Quality Assessment System), acknowledged as one of the most
comprehensive transport audit protocols in use within Southern Africa which are the
integration of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 standards.
The main objective of the SQAS system is to create a common standard of assessment as to
the legislative requirements and the industry standards, relating to the safety, health,
environment, security, quality and corporate social responsibility (CSR) aspects of transport
companies.

ROAD SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS
RTMS (ROAD TRANSPORT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM) – SANS 1395-1
RTMS is an industry-led, voluntary self-regulation scheme that encourages consignees,
consignors and transport operators engaged in the road logistics value chain to implement a
vehicle management system that preserves road infrastructure, improves road safety and
increases the productivity of the logistics value chain. This scheme also supports the
Department of Transport’s National Freight Logistics Strategy.
Superior SHEQ Management Solutions can assist companies to develop appropriate processes,
systems and measurement methods that would enable it to demonstrate compliance to this
standard in a manner that is sustainable and that will achieve the following objectives: - Improved road safety, - the reduction of road crashes, - the optimised payload efficiency, - the maintenance of roadworthy vehicles, and - improved driver wellness and training. and reliability of the total H&S management system and drawing up plans for corrective action. Often,
organisations or customers will require their suppliers to be accredited with a particular scheme in
order to win or commence work.
