At Sunshine House School, we aim to provide an environment where all pupils are able to reach their full potential in their physical abilities by providing a range of activities which will stimulate and inspire pupils to participate.

PE budget expenditure in 2015-2016By the end of the 2015-2016 academic year we received £8150 to support the development of PE & sport. This enabled us to enhance the provision that was already in place.

Provision Impact CostTrampoline EndsLarge mats placed at either end of the trampoline enables the need for reduced number of spotters to be placed around the trampoline; which provides greater flexibility when organising rebound sessions.

Ability to conduct rebound sessions as a class group due to the reduction in the number of adults needed to be present.

Hydrotherapy chairLarge chair better suited for our senior pupils to transport them from the changing area to poolside.

Pupils are hoisted into a chair which enables them to be placed in the correct position to enable them to be comfortable.The chair can be reclined therefore the transfer from the chair to the pool is much safer.

Pupils are able to gain greater freedom of movement whilst supported by the aids. Particular parts of the body are not able to be submerged under water which enables them to participate in stretches to relax their muscles and joints.

Rebound Therapy trainingEarly years,Key stages 1-3 have access to weekly rebound sessions.

Greater number of staff who are confident in setting up and putting away the trampoline. 11 extra staff trained.Plan for weekly rebound sessions for pupils across the school.Pupils will make progress in their anticipation skills, physical skills and concentration.
