It seems that every day the news media have yet more bad news to tell: wars, disease, terrorism, drought, social unrest, and more. Some people have stopped using clock radios to wake up in the morning, preferring a jarring buzzer to the even more jarring morning news. What more do we need before we realize that we are ϐinite creatures, and while there is much we can do to make our world better, ultimately there is a lot that is simply not within our grasp? To this our loving God says, “Be strong, fear not!” We must do what we can to make our world a better and safer place, but we must also realize our limits and that our ultimate safety is in the hands of God. We can be comforted by the realization that God loves us beyond measure, and will give us every help in our efforts to make our world a loving and safe place for everyone.

How do you catch a unique cat? U-nique up on it!

Those who claim “words can never hurt me” have obviously never

been hit in the head with a dictionary.

I just got a dog and named him Peeve. I wanted to be able to say

“I have a pet Peeve.”

If all is not lost, where is it?

CALLED TO SERVE WEEKEND is September 19th & 20th

Every year at this time, our Parish launches its “Called To Serve” campaign, which marks the beginning of many of our Parish Ministries for the coming year. This year, Called To Serve Weekend falls on September 19th & 20th. We are blessed to have many dedicated and generous parishioners at St. Bridget’s, who volunteer for the many activities that help to bring the love of Christ to our parish and to the community at large. Please note: ALL Volunteers must be CORI’d on these two days, take a few minutes to stop by the tables with your license and fill out the form! Please consider serving as a volunteer for one or several of the Parish ministries. We need you ALL. As you contemplate how you can participate, reflect on these words from our Lord:

‘Amen, Amen, I say to you, as long as you did this to one of the least of my brethern, you did it to Me.’
