• Person is not offered and given professional training opportunities.
• Principal and/or pastor does not understand development.
• Board or Council does not understand development.

WHY IT DOES NOT WORK OUT
• Everything is measured by, “How much money did you raise?”
• There is no written Strategic Plan for Development to go by.
• The principal or pastor sees the position as a “catch all” for other things.
• The principal or pastor disappears after the development officer is hired.
