For Reducing Background Noise
Mic mute can be especially important when more people join the Hangout. With six or eight mics picking up background noises, the ability to mute a mic is essential. Also, ask participants to choose a quiet location to reduce background noise. Finally, for those who only listen, invite people to follow the broadcast instead of joining the hangout.
