With the advent of the Indian economy towards a

high growth rate trajectory, the potential expansion

and outreach of the Indian Banking industry is

unbounded. The Indian Banking Industry is currently

worth Rs. 81 trillion ( US$ 1.33 trillion ). According to

the latest KPMG-CII report, Indian banking sector is thon course to be the 5 largest in the world by

2020.

The Banking and Financial Services Industry is

expected to recruit 8 million people in the next 7

years. To cater the need of banking professionals

across the globe, UIAMS, Panjab University, has

started a two-year regular post-graduate MBA

programme in Banking and Insurance to meet the

demands of this sector. The programme is first of

its kind in North-India and is aimed at creating

world-class banking and insurance sector

capabilities.

The Banking and Industry sector is now dependent

on latest technologies like Internet and mobile

devices to carry out transactions and communicate

with the masses. Proficiency in these facets is part

of the overall curriculum at UIAMS. The programme

prepares the students to apply their all-round

knowledge-based learning to the financial world at

large, such as wealth management, investment

banking, portfolio management, financial consulting ,

risk management, and general & life insurance

services.

l�A Bachelor's or Master Degree in any

discipline of Panjab University or of any

other university recognized by Panjab

University as equivalent thereto with at

least 50% marks in aggregate.

l�Pass in final examination of the Institute

of Chartered Accountants of India or the

Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of

India or the Institute of Company
