It´s a business relationship between two or more companies that enables each to achieve certain strategic objectives that are not able to achieve on their own.

DISADVANTAGES•Conflicts of control: both parties have an
interest in controlling the company.•Risk that changes in attitudes, abilities
and interests of the partners occur. •Lack of sincerity and cooperation between
the parties. •Different styles of leadership.
•Differences goals to achieve with the association.
•The alliance partners could become more dependent on each other, making it difficult to operated again as separated entities.

REAL LIFE CASE•JUAN VALDEZ AND LAN
This strategic partnership includes a exclusive offer of Juan Valdez to all persons traveling on international flights from LAN and nationals in Chile and Colombia, where it will be distributed along with special coffee Colombian, a muffin to go with it, driving the concept of coffee break . LAN and Juan Valdez have a whole future ahead, because they have the same Latin American values, a common origin and the vision to grow and consolidate under the highest quality standards.
