M ufti Day is the time for the students to build their school spirit by observing a particular theme
every first Wednesday of the month. It is the time for them to be creative and to be resourceful.
In celebration of the School Spirit Week and Buwan ng Wika, there will be a SPECIAL MUFTI DAY
on August 30 2019. Everyone, including the teachers and staff, are encouraged to wear Philippine Na-

One pair will be hailed as winners in the following categories: Nursery/Kinder – Senior Kinder,

The competition, hosted by the WMO Organizing Committee was attended by nearly 200 stu-
dents from China, Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia,
and Malaysia.
The goals of the WMO competition are to promote international exchange among mathemat-
ically gifted students, to establish a math-based innovative education paradigm, and to cultivate
future convergent leaders with the ability to view learning and the world from novel perspectives by
stimulating their curiosity and spirit of inquiry.
The World Math-Fusion Olympiad (WMO) is a global Math competition attended by multina-
tional elementary and middle school students who enjoy Math. Closely related to real-life experi-
ences and connected with science, technology, engineering and art, WMO breaks the traditional
format of math competitions by challenging contestants to apply creative and integrated methods
to solve problems that focus on border-crossing thinking through interesting and entertaining activi-
ties in a festive atmosphere.

CALL FOR COOPERATION
O ne of the behavioral problems of the
students that the school is working
hard to combat is tardiness. Punctuali-
ty is an essential school skill we consistently ex-
pect, and consistently teach. Once trained to
be punctual, many students are expected to
show lasting improvement.
To help the school in this endeavor, please
make sure to adhere to the following protocol:
Upon the student’s arrival to school at
8:01 AM (or onwards), the guard will
be giving him/her a “tardy” slip.
The student will be filling the slip out
right away.
The accomplished tardy slip should be
brought to the Principal for signing.
The student will surrender the signed
tardy slip to his/her Homeroom
Adviser.
REMINDERS: Parents SHOULD NOT get the tardy
slip from their child.
Late students WILL NOT be allowed
to ENTER THE CLASSROOM without
the accomplished and signed
ERRATUM In the previous SP Bulletin issue, the banner
story, “Valiant Knights Remain Unrivalled: Students
grab awards in various disciplines”, we have mis-
takenly put Danah Mendoza as one of the recipi-
ents of the iMWIC Merit Award instead of
Clemontine Dana M. Yanga. We would like to
apologize for this misinformation and extend our
pride congratulatory thoughts to Ms. Yanga!

To continue with the dissemination on the important mat-
ters discussed during the returning parents’ orientation, we will
now present the various changes in the school’s academic pro-
grams and academic policies. In the school’s efforts to continu-
ously improve to better cater to the learning needs of its stu-
dents, the following innovations will be implemented starting
this academic year:
New Academic Programs

Grades 1-6 Math subjects.
2. Core Knowledge and Pennsylvania Learning Standards will
be implemented in Pre-School.
3. There will now be an Integration of Executive Functions
and Life Skills in the Pre-School Curriculum.
4. Artificial Intelligence will now be introduced to enrich ICT
and Robotics.
5. To further enrich Science skills learning of the students,
Khan Science will now be implemented from Grades 1-12.
6. We will now incorporate Grit and Growth Mindset in the
EQ/ACT Curriculum.
New Academic Policies

calendar.

ment tools, there will now be a focus on Performance
Tasks and Summative Assessments.
