STEP 2016
Back by popular demand!! Welcome to
the second edition of the STEP
newsletter. A great deal has happened
since our first Newsletter and we
wanted to let you know, how things are
progressing in the wonderful world of
STEP.
You may recall in the May Newsletter,
we celebrated reaching 100 students
participating in the STEP program. We
are please to announce that we have
now reached around 130 students and
are continually taking on new students
in various roles across our Retail stores,
within the Canning Vale Warehouse and
within our Good Sammys Café in
Canning Vale.
The feedback from Students, Parents,
Managers, Supervisors and Schools, has
been fantastic. We have watched
students make amazing progress across
the board, whilst building their
workplace skills and confidence.

TRAINEESHIPS
We have had an exciting few months
with many students showing promise to
move into a School Based Traineeship.
Last month we introduced you to our
first School Based Trainee Danny, who
continues to progress in leaps and
bounds.
This month we would like to introduce
you to our two newest School Based
Trainees Jarret Salter and Hunter Nees.
Jarret is currently in year 10 at
Lesmurdie Senior High School. He
commenced work experience with us in
February.
Showing great enthusiasm and a solid
work ethic, Jarrett embraced the
opportunity to start a School Based
Traineeship, and (like Danny) will be
completing Certificate II In Warehousing
with Good Sammy’s through this
arrangement.

We wish Jarrett all the best and we are
sure that great things will become of
him. Welcome Jarrett.
Our other newest Trainee is Hunter
