FAITH FORMATION PROGRAM

This weekend we are beginning our Faith Formation program. Over 900 children will attend classes each week here at St Barts. This is a wonderful blessing for our parish! We have classes on Tuesday evenings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Many of the children will be attending mass at 10 am or 1130 am in English. Please…welcome them and make sufficient room. We will still do our best to accept children who are registered late- space is very limited. Unfortunately after September 28 we will no longer be able to accept any new students. Please register as soon as possible! The Faith Formation Office will be open this week:

INDONESIAN MASS On the 4th Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in Indonesian at 3 p.m. in the chapel (Ithaca Street). Following the mass there’s always a reception in Heafey Hall. The next mass will be celebrated September 23 at 3 pm. All are welcome to attend.

TEGALOG MASS On the 3rd Sunday of every month mass is celebrated in Tagalog for the Filipino community at 5pm in the chapel (Ithaca Street). The next mass will be celebrated on Sunday Sept 16. All are welcome to attend.

This past Sunday our youth fundraiser was a huge success! All of the tables for the flea market were sold out and our youth group raised $1,350 Thank you to everyone for their hard work and collaboration.

MASS BOOK / LIBRO DE MISAS 2019 The mass book for 2018 will open for new intentions on Tuesday, October 9 after the 9 a.m. mass. Masses are offered for those living or deceased. The offering for each mass is $15. On Saturday at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. we offer collective intentions which means we are able to take more than one intention for the mass. If you have any questions, please speak to one of the priests. El libro de misas para el año 2018 se iniciará el martes 9 de octubre, después de la misa de las 9am, para las nuevas intenciones. Las misas se ofrecen para las personas que viven o han fallecido. La oferta para cada misa es de $15. El sábado a las 5 pm y 7:30 pm ofrecemos intenciones colectivas lo que significa que se incluyen más de una intención para la misa. GRUPO DE PAREJAS El domingo pasado más de 80 parejas asistieron a la reunión mensual a las 2:30pm en el Heafey Hall. El P. Santos Moncion ofreció el día de la formación en español. Te invitamos a asistir a nuestra próxima reunión el domingo 14 de octubre a las 2:30 p.m. en Heafey Hall. Ofrecemos cuidado de niños para sus hijos. El almuerzo también se ofrece, gratis, para todos los que asisten.

DO YOU NEED A LETTER FROM YOUR CHURCH? In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those documents be registered and be active members of St Bartholomew Parish at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not registered in the parish.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (Confession) There are two times every Saturday for confessions in the main church: 4 pm and 6:30 pm. Also Thursday at 6:30pm in the Chapel. We now have two priests assigned during these times to make it convenient and less time to wait. Please do your part…. come as close as possible to these confession times. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity of God’s mercy and love.

NECESITA UNA CARTA DE SU IGLESIA? Para poder otorgar cartas de recomendación, de buen carácter moral, como para ser padrinos de algún sacramento y documentos para propósitos legales o religiosos, se requiere que quienes necesitan estos documentos, estén inscritos y sean miembros activos de la Parroquia de San Bartolomé por lo menos tres meses antes de su solicitud. No podemos entregar ninguna certificación a las personas que no cumplan con estos requisitos.

SACRAMENTO DE RECONCILIACIÓN (Confesión) Los sábados las confesiones en la iglesia principal son a las 4 pm y 6:30 p.m., también los jueves a las 6:30 pm en la capilla. We welcome adults 18 and over who are

in need of receiving their sacraments of

initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and

Confirmation) to our parish! The process

is called Rite of Christian Initiation of

Adults (RCIA). It’s a weekly preparation

program that will assist you in your faith

formation and prepare you for the

sacraments to be received at the Easter

Vigil. There are some requirements

necessary before entering this program.
