Automatic capacitor banks with staticsystem. JK3PSZT-XXXXX

The all series capacitor banks with staticsystem have been designed for Powerfactor correction purposes innetworks with fluctuating loads.

The variations in power are relativelyfast (in milliseconds) so that the switchingoperations are carried out by thyristors,which are connected to a voltage controlboard, so that the connection anddisconnection of the capacitor is carriedout with a zero voltage difference.

Transients are prevented between theconnection and disconnection of steps,obtaining the immediate response to theload fluctuations.

Functions and advantages of capacitorbanks with a static system

The functions or advantages of thiscompensation system are as follows:

Immediate response to the compensationrequest. The response time of the Powerfactor correction can be of a single networkfrequency cycle, thus achieving an almostinstantaneous compensation.

Elimination of start-up transients produc-ed by the capacitor's connection. The conn-ection takes place when the voltage networkmatches that of the capacitor when it is par-tially or totally loaded.

The lack of transients in the connection allo-ws us to eliminate gaps, flicker and any otheralteration generated by the connection's tran-sient.

Limited switching operations

Lower wear of capacitors and switching elem-ents, due to the elimination of transients andthe total absence of mobile mechanical parts.This is how we can greatly increase the work-ing life of the unit, as compared to conventio-nal electromechanical contactor units.

Connection of a static capacitor bankStatic capacitor banks are usually connectedto the general switchboard or secondary swit-chboards in the case of large-scale installatio-ns.

JK3PSZT-XXXXXStatic switching units (three-phase)

Description

The static switching modules of theJK3PSZT series are the basic buildingblock for the construction of staticcap-acitor banks for power factor correctionpurposes.

These capacitor banks use thyristorsinstead of the classic contactors for theconnection of each large group of capa-citors and they are ideal in installationswhere the leakage current suffers quickand large fluctuations (load changes inintervals that can range from splitseconds to 8 or 10 seconds).

Application

The static switching units of theJK3PSZT Series have been designedto connect and disconnect capacitorsin milliseconds.

They can be used to build capacitorswith various steps, or for the individ-ual compensation of a load that mustbe compensated instantly due to con-nection / disconnection deficiencies,for example, in welding units, cranes,lifts, etc.
