High Voltage Switching Operations Course
Course OverviewThe High Voltage Switching Operations course has been developed by electrical subject matters experts and provides participants with critical knowledge and skills essential to safely manage and carry out high voltage switching operations. A competent person ensures equipment will be used correctly and with integrity for the life of the equipment, promoting cost effective and secure asset management strategies.
Guidelines for the Safe management of high voltage (HV) installations strongly recommend High Voltage switching operators are assessed as being competent, while maintaining currency in the national units of competency for high voltage switching, delivered by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
These guidelines for the safe management of high voltage electrical installations are issued under Section 33AA of the Electricity Act 1945 (WA) by the Director of Energy Safety and are endorsed by WorkSafe and justifies stringent operating procedures to prevent injury to persons and major damage to electrical installations and buildings.
Our course includes:• Electrical Theory• Legislation, Safety Procedures & Arc Flash PPE• Electrical Hazards & Risk Management• Developing High Voltage Switching Programs• Coordinating & Directing Switching Programs• Performing High Voltage Switching Activities• Controlling Permit to Work Operations
Coex Training provide targeted training solutions for operational and executive teams facing cost, capability, and productivity challenges. Our subject matter experts work with teams, departments and entire organisations to develop customised training solutions to achieve your goals.
