In 1980 George Bryce and his wife Jackie founded Star Racing to

support the motorcycle drag racing community. Our high

performance motorcycle company has evolved into a successful

mail-order parts business, with engine building and machine shop

services. Our state-of-the art machine shop houses a 5-axis Hass

CNC machine, Sunnen boring and honing equipment, Spintron,

DTS, and Superflow engine dynos, and a DynoJet chassis dyno.

Celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2010, Star specializes in parts

for older drag bikes and late model sport bikes. We stock a large

and varied selection of race products including ignition and head

components, valves, sprockets, gaskets, chains, wheels, brakes,

nitrous systems, carbs, pistons and rings, clutch plates and chassis

components in our on site warehouse. Our online high

performance parts store is continually updated with new products.

Star Racing has also evolved into the development of late-model

hot rod V-Twins for both the street and strip. We now stock a full

line of S&S engines and support parts for drag racing enthusiasts,

as well as for other motorcyclists, dealers and distributors. Our

BUSA P.A.I.R. BLOCK-OFF KIT, 99-07

The billet black anodized Block-Offs come complete

with ultra high temperature o-rings (better seal/reusable),

mounting nuts and a block off cap for the air box, and

full color easy to follow instructions. The P.A.I.R. block-

off kit removes the factory air injection. The air injection

is used to "trick" emission

sensors by injecting additional

clean air into the exhaust

gas...making it seem as though

there is less pollution. In

reality...the same amount leaves

the engine with or without the

P.A.I.R. block-off kit. The

P.A.I.R. kit installation prevents backfires during

deceleration and increases power by blocking crank case

gasses from entering the air box.

Pingel Hi-Torque starters have killer cranking abilities with considerably more torque and a

larger output shaft. The 5.6HP unit weighs only 19 pounds. Starter sockets are a deep-well

1-1/8" 6 point impact. 6 ft. flexible #2 welders copper cables are connected with siamese

connectors. Cable ends are military spec with shrink tubing. Starters are designed for left side

The left side is available with your choice of an air or

electric shift button along with another switch mounted

below and forward used for launching. Switches are

ergonomically placed so there’s no uncomfortable wrist

motion required to operate either switch, and yet they’re

spaced far enough apart to prevent accidental pushes. A fill

valve and MRE air gauge are incorporated in either design

for convenience. Barbed fittings are supplied as required.

Extra grippy knurled surface make gloves a mandatory.

The ultimate throttle grip achieves full throttle in one quarter turn or less with the average setup. Easily adjustable throttle stops for both

open and closed make for easy setup, and the set screw for holding

the cable housing means the cable will stay where you put it. The cable exits to the center for easy routing. Built-ins include a tether

switch so you don’t have to find room for something else on your

handlebars, and an easily adjustable microswitch for nitrous. The throttle includes the same grippy surface as the left side (hey, you’d

look funny with only one glove on anyway) and an idler wheel with

smooth bearing action.

DYNA SHIFT MINDER SYSTEM

The Dyna Shift Minder System is the ultimate in racing shift light products. The Shift Minder System consists of an

attractive billet aluminum Shift Light and the Shift Minder control module.

The Dyna Shift Light is a hallmark of the quality, reliability, and innovation that Dynatek

strives to include in every product. Machined billet aluminum with an attractive black and

The Shift Minder control module is available separately and can be used to activate other devices

The Dyna DRL-400 Two Stage Rev Limiter has been specifically designed to maximize launch performance and over-rev protection in drag racing. The DRL-400 works with all inductive electronic ignitions on two and 4-cylinder engines. It is housed in a 3-3/4" x 2-3/8" x 1" plastic case with integral mounting flanges. Potential uses include shift kill to kill ignitions during up

shift, allowing for clutchless shifts. Instead of having to

cut jumper wires to get the box to work with a particular

application, and having only two choices, there are now

three dip switches. These dip switches allow not only for

a very wide range of applications (single fire thumpers to

Harleys to inline 4s to 8 cylinders), but they also allow

for the rev range to be adjusted from the standard 6000-

12000. This means that new motorcycles with 12000+

RPM redlines can now be handled, as can applications

where the limit needs to be set below 6000.

The Multi-Bay Charger charges three Milwaukee

handle and a blow-molded base for impact

The New Power Commander V

is loaded with tons of new

features. It is compatible with

2009 and newer bike models.

Commander V features.

PC III USB

The Power Commander is a

fuel injection adjustment unit

that plugs "inline" with the bike’s stock ECU (electronic

control unit). The PC uses original equipment style

connectors, so no splicing or cutting of the harness is

required. Most installations take less than 15 minutes,

some as little as 5 minutes.

Changes are made to the bikes fuel and, in some cases,

ignition curves via the PC's onboard microprocessor.

Using this technology offers a large area of adjustment

without making any permanent changes to the bike’s

ECU. Removing the PC returns the bike to its previous

stock condition. Each unit comes complete with software

and cable link that allows you to change between

different maps or make adjustments to a map file.

Don't Let Your Stock OEM Petcock Be Your Carburetor's Main Jet.

Maximum engine performance depends on the fuel flow out of the valve. Research has proven

that at a flow rate of only 28 ounces per minute, stock petcocks can starve even stock engines. If you modify

your engine in any way, more fuel flow is required and must be supplied or you will suffer major tuning

problems. Just increasing the size of your jet will not make more fuel available to your carburetor at high

RPM’s.

Using a Sidewinder or a close fitting aftermarket header?

Pain to pull your filter off and inspect it, or just change

it? This new oil filter relocator helps fix all of that

headache. This is a two-piece design - you thread the

HAYABUSA CLUTCH MOD

This one-piece clutch cam is a direct bolt in replacement

for the OEM two-piece unit. This part eliminates the

"back torque limiter" which makes the clutch chatter

when subjected to rapid take offs. This part is a must for

Hayabusa’s that are drag raced, or subjected to heavy

duty street riding. Clutch feel is vastly improved.

This centrifugal lock up clutch

prevents clutch slippage at high RPM

and allows you to use softer clutch

springs for easier, more consistent

launches. Easy installation.

MTC MULTI STAGE LOCK-UP CLUTCH

Each arm represents one stage of lock-up adjustment.

Arms are controlled by stall spring,

thus allowing the mechanic

flexibility in determining the RPM

each finger will start applying clutch

pressure. In addition, an arm can be

adjusted to release clutch pressure at

the maximum rated torque your

engine produces, thus keeping your

motor at maximum efficiency with

each gear change.

with excellent reaction times and better E.T.'s. The unit

MTC Engineering is proud to announce the release of its new lock up clutch. The new

clutch called the "Gen II Multistage Clutch" is designed and built with the same

robustness that MTC has used for over 40 years in making the best products in the

racing industry.

This clutch significantly reduces clutch lever efforts and yet improves clutch adjustability through its "multistage"

technology. The new design runs on engine RPM, and demonstrates a quicker reaction time and more repeatability

between passes. The new design also allows for easier dynamic spring replacement with its quick access cover plate over

This adapter allows the use of a GPZ1100

or 1000J model cylinder head on the earlier

KZ000/1000 lower end. It maintains the

roller style cam chain.

cam timing fluctuations or the risk

of the OEM style hy-vo cam chain

breaking, this kit is the answer. The

kit contains special upper and lower

cam drive sprockets, camshaft adaptors, and cam chain.

Kit requires modifications to the OEM front, back, and

top chain guide.

MOTORCYCLE CAMSHAFT INSTALLATION

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Install cams using stock timing marks.

2. Locate TDC on the degree wheel using a dial indicator

or a positive stop.

3. To find intake lobe center, rotate engine until you have

found maximum lift using a dial indicator on the lifter.

Zero indicator with cam at maximum lift. Rotate engine

in reverse direction until indicator drops 0.040". Rotate

engine in normal direction until you are 0.020" below

maximum lift. Mark or note degree wheel location.

Rotate engine in normal direction, going through

maximum lift and until you are 0.020" below that point.

Mark or note degree wheel location. The intake lobe

center is located at the point mid-way between these two

readings. The intake lobe centerline is determined by

calculating the number of degrees from your TDC

reading to your lobe center reading.

4. Repeat step 4 to locate the exhaust centerline.

5. You must check the following clearances:

a. Valve-to-piston

b. Valve-to-valve

c. Coil-to-coil

d. Retainer-to-guide

6. Over torqued and sloppy sprocket slotting can result in

flange breakage.

directly into most stock chassis from ‘99-‘06 and typically

PANHEAD ENGINE – RETRO STYLING

Vintage Vibe . . . Modern Muscle

In the fall of 2007, S&S introduced an engine with a retro look, and updated technology. The Panhead engine has been hailed as the coolest

looking classic engine of all time, and the Flathead Power™ P-Series engines from S&S capture that retro styling from the 50's and 60's, but

with 21st century engineering. P-series engines are available in four styles to fit 48-'99 style chassis. One engine style is designed for 54-

'64 style tin primary applications. These 5-64 style P-series engines can also be installed in 48-54 chassis if a 55-64 style inner tin primary

cover is used. Another engine fits 65-69 style chassis using the early alloy primary. Finally, for retro custom applications, alternator and

alternator/generator versions are offered that will fit any stock or custom 70-99 style chassis. Match your performance needs with a choice of

displacements and compression ratios: 93", 93" high compression, or the big and bad 103" model. The P93H and P103 engines come

standard with dual plugged heads. While P93 and P93H engines will nearly always fit in stock chassis, P103 engines are 300" taller than

stock and will not fit in stock frames without modification.

SHOVELHEAD ENGINE – RETRO CHOPPERS

S&S SH-Series engines for shovelheads are based on the S&S Sidewinder® big bore cylinders and stroker

flywheels they have offered since 1976. Assembled with S&S crankcases, valve train components,

electronic ignition, and S&S cylinder heads,

these engines are topped off with great looking

S&S polished billet rocker boxes. Engines

are available with 66-69 generator style

crankcases, 70-84 alternator style crankcases, or

with custom alternator left/generator right

crankcases. Generator style engines

feature the S&S polished billet electronic

timer loaded with an S&S Super Stock®

electronic ignition, and are now available

with a polished billet gearcover. The

S&S billet tappet guides, used on all SH-

Series engines, are designed around the

quiet, dependable hydraulic tappets used

in 84-99 engines. SH-Series engines are

available in three versions: SH93, SH93H,

and SH103. SH93 and SH93H engines

are 93 cid engines and are available in

generator, alternator, and

alternator/generator styles.

113” ENGINE – PERFORMANCE STREET ENGINE

V113 engines are available in natural, black and

polished finish, with either the S&S IST® or the

S&S Super Stock® Ignition System. The V113

is actually shorter than a stock 80" Harley-

Davidson® Evolution

® engine by about .050”,

which makes it easy to fit into any stock 84-99

frame. In addition, engine life and

dependability are better than you might expect

from an engine this large. In fact, IST equipped

versions come with a full three year warranty.

Chrome plated billet gearcover, tappet guides,

and die cast rocker covers, S&S roller rocker

arms, S&S electric compression releases, the

S&S High Volume High Pressure (HVHP) oil pump & S&S Super G

carburetor are standard features.

107” ENGINE – TOURING SPECIAL T o u r i n g i s D i f f e r e n t - S&S is known as a performance company, and rightly so. But a big

horsepower number at 7000 rpm will not help a loaded

bagger merge with interstate traffic on a short on-ramp.

Lots of torque at 3000 rpm will do quite nicely. The

V107T Touring Special satisfies the needs of the

performance minded touring rider with a healthy

displacement, a relatively short 4-1/4" stroke, but large 4.

000" bore. The result is a performance engine with

characteristics that are ideal for touring. When riding for

extended periods of time, noise and vibration can really

get on your nerves, so it is important that the engine be

smooth and quiet. The relatively short stroke, the new

S&S single coil valve springs, and the quiet 585 cam make

the V107T touring special a pleasure to ride for the long haul.

96” ENGINE – INDUSTRY STANDARD

If you’re looking to replace a worn out stock Harley-Davidson®

Evolution® engine with something a bit more potent

without breaking the bank, you still can’t beat a V96. This year S&S offers

an updated version of the V96 that makes it

an even better value and a better “daily

driver”. The main difference is the

replacement of the SuperStock® cylinder

heads and domed piston with S&S

Performance replacement heads and a flat

topped piston. Special pricing makes the

V96 competitive with imported engines, but

when you consider the performance,

excellent reliability, and

S&S V113 yields 103.7 hp and a healthy 115 ft/lb of torque with the S&S 600 cam and Super G carb. This

bike was equipped with a Thunder Header exhaust.

The S&S 124" Hot Set Up Kit allows owners of 99-up Harley-Davidson® motorcycles to upgrade their stock 88" or 96"

engines to 124" using the stock crankcases. Kits are now available for 2008 touring bikes. There are several advantages

to installing this kit. Many of the stock engine components such as the crankcases, oil pump and cam cover are reused

something bigger is easy, that’s the best. A big bore kit is an easy way to achieve more

displacement, and if you can install it without rebalancing flywheels or boring the crankcases,

FIN CYLINDER HEADS

If you’re looking for a way to make your S&S 124”

engine more competitive at the drag strip, this is how it is

done. Introducing the Special Application (SA) Big Fin

B2 Racing Cylinder Head Kits. There are five kits

available for S&S 124’s. For each engine there are kits

for carbureted as well as engines equipped with S&S

VFI. These are high flowing SA cylinder heads intended

for applications where top end horsepower is the most

important consideration. The big fin design offers

superior cooling which is so important for big inch high

performance engines. These 4-1/8” bore heads are

assembled with 2.220” intake valves, 1.800” exhaust

valves and S&S .660” lift valve springs with titanium top

collars. They are .200” taller than stock so also come

BIG BORE CRANKCASES FOR 99-

UP BIG TWIN ENGINES

How big is big? S&S TCSA crankcases can be ordered

for engines with cylinder bore sizes of 4.250” to 4.800”.

In order to accommodate these very large bore sizes, the

cam chest of the right side case has been offset .375”.

The offset of the cam chest requires the use of a special

.375” longer pinion shaft. In addition, crankcase deck

height can be machined to

the stock height of 6.000”

or as high as 7.125” from

the crank center line. The

additional cylinder deck

height allows for more

material and greater

strength between the

cylinder spigot bores

when the cases are

machined for large bore

cylinders. Like all S&S crankcases, the S&S TCSA

come with all required hardware for assembly. In

addition, an S&S crankcase breather valve is included in

HIGH PERFORMANCE CLUTCH

The S&S high performance clutch is available for 91-06

models with mechanical or hydraulic clutch actuation,

except 06 Dyna™. The S&S clutch features an early

style, 66-tooth ring gear because the larger, stronger

teeth on this gear are better able to stand up to the force

required to turn over a big inch engine. They are also

less likely to be sheared off in the event of a backfire.

An early style starter pinion gear, available from S&S, is

required for all 94-06 models. In spite of the tremendous

power and torque

handling capacity of

the S&S high

performance clutch,

it is only slightly

larger than stock and

can be used in stock

primary cases with

only minor clearancing operations which are not visible

AIR CLEANER KITS

S&S air cleaner kits are available for 08 and up baggers

with electronic throttle control. They bolt on to the stock

EFI throttle body in place of the stock air cleaner. A

high flow air cleaner will improve the performance of a

stock engine, but a set of performance slip-on mufflers is

generally installed at the same time because the gain in

performance is greater with both then it is with either one

alone. When you are ready to add

a cam, a big bore kit, or performance

cylinder heads, the results will just

get better. Normally, the installation

of an air cleaner kit & performance

mufflers will not cause any tuning

problems for stock closed loop fuel

injection systems, as they can easily

accommodate the additional fuel requirements. The

addition of performance cams will require additional

tuning for proper operation.

control valve action at high RPM when using high lift

developed to improve performance and to eliminate

potential engine damage caused by failure of the chain

and tensioner system. S&S Gear Drive Camshaft Kits

improve valve timing accuracy by eliminating timing

chain lash as well as variations caused by the loose

fitting stock cam drive sprockets. All stock chain drive

components are replaced with S&S Gear Drive Cams

and outer drive gears. This simple, effective solution

provides two to three more horsepower simply by

eliminating chain drag, and allows more aggressive cam

profiles and increased valve

power per cylinder, higher operating temperatures, and thinner head and block castings. Ideal for both aluminum heads to

cast iron blocks and aluminum heads to aluminum blocks. Two viton coated outer embossed spring steel layers with a steel

inner layer provide support to the gasket allowing multiple thicknesses. Withstands the shearing forces created by

DYNO FACILITIES

Dyno Tuning, sometimes known as dyno testing or mapping, is essential to realizing the full potential

of today's fuel injected and carbureted motorcycles with performance modifications.

The only way to accurately calibrate fuel and ignition maps while diagnosing run and drivability issues

in a controlled environment is to Dyno test your motorcycle. At Star Racing, we have technicians who

are trained to map Power Commander, H-D Pro Super Tuner, and other aftermarket devices for your

Harley®, Suzuki or Kawasaki.

A baseline Dyno run will provide you torque, horsepower, RPM and AFR measurements. Tuning will

also properly diagnose and correct fuel or ignition problems, optimize your motorcycle's performance

and measure the effects of changes or modifications.

Graphs will be printed for a before and after comparison.

We offer Dyno tuning by the hour. Most mapping can be done in four hours or less, but varies based

on the number of tuning variables and how the bike responds to tuning changes. Additional labor cost

may be incurred if parts installation is required.

Dyno testing at the Star Racing facility, 123 Crisp Drive, Americus, Georgia must be scheduled in

advance. Drop offs are welcome.
