After School Clubs Register by September 7th
The PFA is pleased to coordinate several after school clubs this fall. Thanks to our excellent staff, we're able to offer returning fa-vorites such as Minecraft and movie club as well as some exciting new clubs. The fee for each club is based on the number of ses-sions as well as the cost for supplies. Although there are a few conflicts with dates, we hope that you will be able to find a good mix for your student(s) to enjoy.
Please review the club information sheet for dates and sign your student up using http://signup.com/go/vhALqTr . Checks should be made payable to St. Matthew PFA and turned into the School Office by Friday, September 7th. Clubs will begin on September 10th. Important: Please make sure that you include the name(s) of the student(s) you are registering as well as your email address in the Comment box for each club.
Space is limited for some clubs and will be filled based on date of receipt of your regis-tration. If your registration is received after the maximum is reached or if a club doesn't receive the minimum number of registrations, your check will be returned to you. If you sign up for multiple clubs and one or more are already full or cancelled, you will be con-tacted about sending in a revised payment for the available clubs.
Please send questions to Chrissy Haas, [email protected].

We are excited to announce that we have made a few changes to our Confirmation Preparation
Program for the 2018-2019 school year!
The most important change is that we will be combining our program with St. Lawrence and
making it a year long program, which means we will also be sharing space at both churches.
Also new this year is that freshmen are welcome to join our one year
Confirmation Preparation Program.
Come learn all about the new Confirmation Preparation Program on Sunday, August
19th at 1:30pm at St. Lawrence!

Studies suggest that playing a musical instrument may improve learning, memory, logic and
general creativity. (See Huffington Post, 7/20/11, “Musicians Are Probably Smarter Than the
Rest of Us”.) St. Matthew’s Elementary School is teaming up for the 8th year with Keyboards Un-
limited Piano Studio, a local neighborhood piano studio that has served numerous St. Matthew fam-
ilies over the years, to provide a unique, innovative opportunity for your kindergarten through fifth
grade student.
For 20 to 30 minutes per week, during your child’s recess period at St. Matthew’s, s/he can learn
to play the piano and enhance musical skills in a high-quality, high-integrity small group setting
with other students in his/her grade. Designed for all students, this class is perfect for those stu-
dents who want to play drums, guitar, or any other instrument when they get older. We will help
lay a musical foundation that will last for years to come. Our program maintains the highest quali-
ty, while bringing out the highest potential in your child, in a fun caring atmosphere, at a convenient
time to help you manage your busy schedule. We will provide keyboards and music for class time at
St. Matthew’s. Each child must have access to a piano/keyboard to practice at home be-
tween classes.
The class will be held on Thursdays for 14 weeks, beginning October 11. The total cost for the first
session (14 weeks) is only $190, which includes music and supplies. A $10 discount ($180) can be
taken if full payment is made with registration. A monthly payment option is available: $70 due with
registration, $60 due on November 8, and $60 on December 13. For more information about the
class, please contact John and Diane Haines of Keyboards Unlimited @ (317)432-6291 or pi-
[email protected]. Feel free to visit our website @ www.kupianostudio.com .
Please fill out the information below and e-mail back to us at [email protected] . Then send
your check made out to Keyboards Unlimited into the school office. Or print the form and return all
to the school office. Registration is limited, so return as soon as possible. (*Those students returning from last year, please call Mr. or Mrs. Haines to make arrangements)
